Every year, Hawai‘i officials build more fences to preserve our native forests and threatened species from invasive hoofed animals. This Kamehameha Schools video shows the stark divide between the lush greenery of the forest and the unprotected environment just outside the fence in Keauhou on Hawai‘i Island. This area’s conservation is a cooperative effort between Kamehameha, the Hawai‘i Department of Land and Natural Resources and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
