They just love hosting the olympics in places with high tension, with Berlin in WWII, the USSR during the Cold War, then in Sochi during tension between the US and Russia, and twice in the Korean Peninsula during conflict there

I think it may be a strategy to divulge a sense of peace in the population of those countries, after all, most governments are crippled when the population is against its decisions.

I am blown away by your four videos. Just incredibly well researched. I can only imagine the amount of work that went into getting the map lines in the right place at the right time. Really helped me get a picture of - in this case - why this conflict is so hard to follow. Please keep them coming.

Nice vid. An important point to mention was that in late-2016, South Koreans impeached their right-wing president, Park Geun Hye, who was always antagonistic toward North Korea. They then elected a more left-wing leader in Moon Jae In who was more for peace dialogue with North Korea. This has had a bigger impact on SK/NK relations than anything related to Donald Trump.

Here is some advice that has been tried and tested over the years: If you're a superpower and you agree to a "temporary agreement" with your superpower rival, it always ends up being permanent (Germany, Korea, spheres of influence in Europe) The only one that they actually kept their word on was Austria, which had been occupied after WW2 but both superpowers backed out and let it be neutral.
