I have been learning to grow our foods and get up and try again if i fail which i have. After hurricane Beryl hit us and tore apart my garden and breaking my crops in half and pulling some out by their roots and everything thrown everywhere. I was devastated and ready to give up, but my husband and I decided to try something else given how the end of the planting season was coming to an end. We planted canalopes, watermelons, and pumpkins, and they are growing!! So exciting. Living in Houston has it extended growing season due to the hot weather we have. We've lived on the east coast, the left coast, central plains, and now the Chihuahuan Desert on the Mexican border. Every where we've lived I've tried a garden which usually resulted in a failure the first year until I got the lay of the land. Learned the hard way that just because a seed packet said "for your region, plant at this time" that didn't necessarily mean it would grow. Hang in there! At least where we live now, we can grow all year round. May be limited to Calabasas and spinach, but it is what it is.

As a Canadian watching the political situation in the US, we as a country are concerned about the continuation of the deteriorating situation facing America. Never have I seen the American people so divided politically and I definitely know that the mainstream media is a major player in causing the divisiveness. I can only hope the American public can see through this nonsense and make the right decision in the upcoming election.
@Wayfarer8892 ай бұрын
Actually, it's not mainstream media causing the divisions, it's the unlimited money coming from corporations into super PACs that then advertise with excessive disinformation and scare tactics. It's also Russia working to inflame people and drive wedges between people on social media. The truth is, a lot of Americans agree on policies . . . As long as they don't know which politician is behind them!

Many places closing down permanently already. We lost a local overstock store and discount grocery this year in our small town. Now, Dirt Cheap set to close all stores, Big Lots, and Badcock furniture. All the cheap stores where the middle class and lower middle class shop. Definitely affects us. We are blessed to live near the gulf coast so gas prices stay relatively low for us compared to many, at 2.50-2.90 averages. Idc what the government says, all these closures tell me clearly that the economy is not well. Prepare is all we can do. It almost feels inevitable something else will happen.

Which was a win for South Korea, both the South and North now has an outlet to use up older ammo, and the money to replace it with new. As for North Korea's involvement, they'll use their troops to cement relations with anyone. They're surplus as far as they're concerned.
