This is as camp as they come, but a lot of dictators use camp aesthetics in their propaganda. Is it accidental or intentional? It sometimes reminds of the Romanian spectacles, where the performers would applaud the Caucescus at the end. They were very camp. When Korea is reunited (under the ROK’s terms, no doubt), I think the alternative scene will use DPRK’s imagery and motifs. However, this won’t even be an endorsement of the ancient regime, the ideology or the psychopathic consciousness behind it , but as punk provocation, a sarcastic dig at the DPRK and as high camp. Would anyone agree?

I read a comment saying that north Koreans celebrate New year on 3 different dates- 1 January, lunar New year, and the birthday of Kim il sung and they follow 2 kinds of Calendar Gregorian and the north Korean.

Am I the only one that notice the big sign saying 2021- cause I’m pretty sure for them would be 120 or something If i was NK I would be so confused

I think this is a PR stunt aimed at the outside world, trying to show that they can afford to put on a show so people ignore the fact that their population is starving.
