Mention the name Manzanilla in Trinidad and people immediately think of miles of beachfront with towering coconut trees. However, there is another side to Manzanilla in Trinidad. In many ways the history of this other side of Manzanilla Trinidad is associated with war. So we head to North Manzanilla and a past that is filled with slavery and war. As we explore the history of the 3rd West India Regiment, its disbandment in Trinidad and the hard life of the 1830's and 1840's we see that in Manzanilla Trinidad the past is truly in the present.

I left Trinidad some 49 years ago, I always appreciate someone enlightening us, especially when we've passed this area many times, but failed to notice the importance of said areas. Thanks again!
