Great videos. Myself and 2 friends backpacked the same route in 1970 , as far as Koln. The people in the Netherlands and Belgium were very friendly and hospitable, but Germany was a challenge 😂

Thank you so much Daniel! Glad you found our videos. Most of this 2022 series was done with a GoPro Hero 10. It has a very good stabilisation feature that takes care of all of the shaking. A few stills and short video clips were done on our phones. Cheers to retirement 😀!

Unfortunately, no we don't have a gps file of our route. We are fairly lo-tech when it comes to navigation. Frank does record our rides on Strava, but although I have a strava account, I don't use it at all. In the video description, I mention the maps and resources we use for route-finding.

The scenery is starting to look very pretty. When you lock your bikes up and wander about did u leave your paniers on ur bikes with out a problem ?

Yes, we did sometimes leave the bikes unattended with the panniers on, eg when grocery shopping, going to a restaurant or visiting a tourist site. Of course whenever possible we'd park the bikes where we could keep an eye on them from inside, but that wasn't always possible. Of course we'd take our valuables with us - Frank has all his in his backpack and mine are in a sack inside my handlebar bag, so I just grab the sack and take it with me. We never had any issues fortunately.
