As I listened once again to this soulful piece, I couldn't help tearing up at the line, "Call this fixter upper our home..." This body of ours in just on loan. We try to improve, upgrade, lose weight as well as gain. We botox this and that, we pollute it, cleanse it, but do we truly have the ability to fix it up to perfection? I've said this, to say that it is our soul that we must purify. It is our spirit that we can work on, improve, bring to the best that it can be. It doesn't matter about the outer shell. It is what lies beneath that truly matter. Yes, for 10 years or 100, we will call this body of ours our "home". But when it's all over, do you truly believe that this broken, frail body that we housed is what is really important..."...be kind...let our hearts be opened wide..." And when necessary -" repaint, repaint, repaint everyday".

We will call this place our home, The dirt in which our roots may grow. Though the storms will push and pull, We will call this place our home. We’ll tell our stories on these walls. Every year, measure how tall. And just like a work of art, We’ll tell our stories on these walls. Let the years we’re here be kind, be kind. Let our hearts, like doors, open wide, open wide. Settle our bones like wood over time, over time. Give us bread, give us salt, give us wine. A little broken, a little new. We are the impact and the glue. Capable of more than we know, We call this fixer upper home. With each year, our color fades. Slowly, our paint chips away. But we will find the strength And the nerve it takes To repaint and repaint and repaint every day. Let the years we’re here be kind, be kind. Let our hearts, like doors, open wide, open wide. Settle our bones like wood over time, over time. Give us bread, give us salt, give us wine. Let the years we’re here be kind, be kind. Let our hearts, like doors, open wide, open wide. Settle our bones like wood over time, over time. Give us bread, give us salt, give us wine. Give us bread, give us salt, give us wine. Smaller than dust on this map Lies the greatest thing we have: The dirt in which our roots may grow And the right to call it home.

We are capable of more than we know. We will colonize this north and thrive here. Away from them. We will find the strength it takes to repaint our image. One day they'll know us as exceptional. Wonderful. Peaceful. Human. For now we fight. For now we will show them what it's like to live. What's it's like to be family. What it's like to live. In this place we call home. We are the light, we are the warmth, we are the heat. We are the Flame!" -Caldríe Thuaildh story quote from one I wrote

What this song says Imo - You go through days of bliss and hell in your life (home) or literally within your home and within that moment everything seems horrible. As you grow you learn and realize a lot of things in life but the one that matters most is to cherish what you already have. Weather it be family, relationships-anything. Cherish that and always move forward with the knowledge of what was in your past. Take care of you and your home. Whatever that may be bc it is a very rare and precious thing.
