Get this DVD and watch. You will not need to ask that question. It is so much more than P&P. This is the greatest period drama ever made. Darcy is no equal.

I totally agree. The film's ending was a lovely scene, and I also liked during the proposal where JT talks about her thinking of him in terms of trade. But you're right, the book has so much more scope to explore JT's feelings. Dreamy to read! :)

Cool. Whenever I don't have time to watch the movie, I'll watch this. The ending is to die for, isn't it? Why couldn't we get a kiss like that at the end of P&P BBC?

This is one of the best fanvids I have seen of BBC mini series. I love how the music is instrumental and emotional and that you have also used quotes. Its a very good job on your part.

You got it all right, the voices and music are balanced, all important points covered, particularly the one I missed most: "He was her brother!"

I think we must agree to disagree. I have seen the 95' P&P and read the book but not in recent years. Enjoyed both, but my vote goes to both N&S as a book and way up on the screen. I like that Elizabeth Gaskell actually addresses social issues. I think Darcy is a man who will always have difficulty showing his feelings. Not JT and to me this is how you would want a man to be.

I agree N&S is better

Is this music from the movie? If not it complements it just as well as the movie theme.

What don't you get? The whole story or "He was her brother?" or something else? Rent it on Netflix, BBC's mini series North and South, and see if you like it as much as the rest of us weird romantics.

WHOA...let's not get ahead of ourselves here. This is a great movie, and Richard Armitage...yum. But I can't say that it's better than P&P. P&P as a book is much better and I think that the '95 BBC movie version is just a teeny bit better than N&S...but only a little bit. However, Darcy remains the very example of what a man should be.
