Great videos guys , an idea for future vids if you re asking , a bit of a demo on the cars and almost a new starter guide for someone looking to get into it , from makes, models, transmissions , engines , mods CdLS, you could base it around land rovers as a brand and every you can buy within that brand , what to look for etc then go into the full on beast mode off-roader and all the great things etc 👍👍

@@4WDUK Yeah I live in the Seattle area that used to have a lot more spots to go and off-road. Now it’s few and far between it’s either doing it on your own property or taking a trip 12 hours away. That’s what I’m planning in a few months we’re going to go out to Moab and take the jeep for some fun.

I've just subscribed, great videos , great rigs - great fun. Wish we had lanes like those in North Essex. I did the Strata Florida a few years ago , Td5 Disco, Lifted Hilux and standard Jimney, was fantastic 👍

One place we’ve never really explored is down south, most we’ve done is Salisbury and Wiltshire 😁 Some amazing lanes around strata too, some amazing routes though wales with camping ⛺️ Thanks for the subscribe and we’re glad you enjoy the content 😁

Did all you guys have to retrofit your diff locks? I imagine Dora had the internals already. The face lift 2003 D2 I inherited from dad didn't have a diff lock, but I got a kit from Ashcroft and the shifter and added it in, I also had the wiring loom from a D2 with diff lock from the factory to replace the main harness to get it all working like factory fit with the dash warning light and all. Great video lads.

Big blue came with it from the factory as it is a ES Premium, Dora and The Party Bus have both had the transfer case’s swapped for diff lock ones 👌🏻 Big blue also has the factory linkage, it’s failed though that’s why she also has a actuator instead. Sadly Big Blue didn’t make it on this trip, we blew both her diffs the week before 😂

Defiantly a discovery 2 with that budget, you’ll get yourself a nice example with some spare cash for mods 😁 parts to repair and aftermarket mods are pretty cheap and they’re easy to work on 😁

D2’s see a great machine once they have been suitably modded. It depends how far you want to go and down which route. I have a td5 defender and I love it… trouble is too much sometimes and I can’t throw it about like I used to with my old hybrid defender that wa as green lane vehicle only! Just remember one major thing….anyone will tell you it’s a big and your 5k /6k budget will soon creep up and up and up! It’s a love and we all enjoy buying and fitting mods as much as we do testing them out. If you go for any vehicle just make sure it’s got a good solid foundation and is not a fit box, the rest you can work with and slowly do up without massive out lay. I hope this helps

Not currently but keep your eyes out as we might possibly looking for guests to appear on trips 😁 sounds like you’ve got a beast of a rig, get some Ashcroft lockers in it 👌🏻 they’ve turned the little blue d2 in a weapon even with it only being on 32” tyres 😁
