Northampton & Lamport Railway • Pitsford & Brampton Station • Boughton Station • Heritage Railway

The Northampton and Lamport Railway runs for a few miles north of Northampton along the old trackbed route which used to run all the way up to Market Harbrough. These days the heritage line operates out from Pitsford & Brampton Station.
I’m too early in the running season for a ride on a train but with a chance to walk along the line using the public path along the full length, I explored all there was to see - and found things that I would not have seen from aboard a train.

The 31 is painted in those colours, because, the owner only had the paint available at the time. It was only by coincidence that the loco is in BR Experimental XP64 livery paint scheme.
