Thank you. I used to work there between 2003 and 2008 and this brings back some good memories. Having lived my entire life in London it was quite a shock moving there. Sunday's were especially quiet despite living next door to the rugby ground. I came to enjoy how quiet it was and the people I worked with seemed more grounded than those in London, whom you could never really get to know due to time constraints. I feel most large city people are missing out on 'town' life. This gives a hint.

Having lived 38 years born and bred in London, I took a job in Northampton from 2003 to 2008 and was so happy I made the change. I travelled against the tide of commuters and at least initially the place was quiet and calm. Not like London at all. It was a market town and hence BSE and Foot and Mouth took a terrible toll. Additionally the demise of retail had taken a toll too with Wilkinson's, Woolworth's and Debenhams all going bust and M&S relocating to another part of town. [Edit: Litten Tree, Edwards and The Fat Cat all have closed, what a shame.] Still, I hope to return some day, buying a smaller house to the one in London. Thanks for jolting the memory buds.

Hi. Thank you for watching. To me, town centre wasn't empty at all. Yes, there are some streets quite empty. Also, it was a midweek midday, maybe all people at their work🙂
