Northern and Southern. In terms of culture, they are poles apart! The north has a more conservative vibe, while the south has a more liberal, extroverted vibe. Hanoi is Vietnam's political power center, while HCMC is its financial power center. There are some stereotypes based on these differences, but there is also a lot of truth in them.
After months of studying, the odd word here and there should be easy to pick up on. When you're stringing full sentences together, it's easy to become disoriented. Even after years of studying the language, it can still be difficult!

North Vietnamese is very soft and it sounds so smooth. I didn't even recognize it as Vietnamese at first.

My parents speak like both FOR EXAMPLE: my dad says Chải Răng but my mom says đánh răng (I feel like it’s hit teeth) but both of them say cây viết also the D sounds like “y” for Nam accent and “z” for Bắc accent but my parents say “y”.
