I still think of this video every time I brew since I bought this kit online when I was under 21 at the time. :) Brewing day is here!. Been like 8 years. Still using the same carboys. :D

Bottles (of any batch size) don't get refrigerated right away. They remain out at room temperature to build carbonation through a small-scale fermentation that creates the carbonation. Once you test a bottle (two or three weeks later) and it has the carbonation level you are looking for... then you want to get them refrigerated or at least in a cooler area while you refrigerate those you have room for for the immediate drinking. Does that help?

You mechion to set it in a dark and quite place to ferment. What does a quite place have to do with making beer?

How long is the process from start to drinking??? 🤯🤯 This process seems crazy complicated but oh so fun at the same time. Thanks for making this video, I found a Northern Brewer Deluxe brew kit unopened at Goodwill for $22.50 I’m excited to try it out soon.

Depending on the beer style, how strong the beer is (as far as ABV), and whether you plan to bottle or keg the beer -- but most beers are ready within 3-5 weeks.

Don't you have to rinse the bottles to get rid of the soapy solution?
@NorthernBrewerTV3 жыл бұрын
If you are sanitizing with StarSan or other no-rinse sanitizers you do not have to rinse the foam. It is food-safe and will pretty much dissolve/incorporate safely into your beer/wine/cider/etc.

Great video, thanks for sharing. I have a question, during the secondary fermentation the receiving vessel has some forth in it, what is that?
@andrewtaylor47963 жыл бұрын
So I get sanitizing everything that comes into contact with the wart but why the yeast packet? The only way the packet would come into contact with it is if you drop it in accidentally. So why sanitize it? It just seems overkill to me
@lysoldisinfectant40843 жыл бұрын
It maybe overkill, but it's a good way to make sure that only what's IN the packet goes in and not what's ON it. Who knows what's on that packet when you open it ready to hitchhike into your brew. It's always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to little overlooked things like this....why take a chance?.

Doesn't using table sugar (Cane Sugar) add its flavor to the beer? I thought corn sugar (dextrose) is preferred because of the flavor profile impact is much less.

Hi thanks for this awesome video. I have a question. Is the second fermentation optional or does it depend on the recipe? Thank you
@NorthernBrewerTV4 жыл бұрын
You can leave your beer in the primary fermenter 1-2 more weeks if you want to skip secondary. Secondary is a great way to clear your beer however.

How do I prevent there being a layer of fine yeast in each bottle?
@michaelhenley71157 жыл бұрын
I think the only way would be to filter the beer. You cannot filter the beer and bottle though, because the yeast is needed for carbonation. You would have to bottle into a keg after filtering, then use artificial carbonation.
@crowtservo6 жыл бұрын
Buy a keg, carbonate the beer, use a beer gun to fill the bottles.
