Elaine Miles, born on April 7, 1960, in Pendleton, Oregon, is a revered Native American actress of Cayuse and Nez Perce ancestry, widely acclaimed for her portrayal of Marilyn Whirlwind on the beloved television series "Northern Exposure." Her performance in the show earned her critical acclaim and positioned her as a significant figure in bringing Native American characters to mainstream television with depth, dignity, and authenticity. Beyond "Northern Exposure," Miles has contributed her talents to various projects, including appearances in "The Last of Us," showcasing her versatility and commitment to representing indigenous voices in the entertainment industry.
In addition to her acting career, Miles is deeply rooted in her cultural heritage and an advocate for environmental and indigenous rights. Her recent venture into sharing personal experiences brings a new and intriguing chapter to her public persona. Elaine has now opened up about her encounter with what she believes was Bigfoot, an experience that has not only deepened her connection to the natural world but also intertwined her story with the rich tapestry of indigenous mythology surrounding the legendary creature.
Elaine's decision to share her story comes at a time when interest in the intersections of culture, nature, and the unknown is at a peak. Her account transcends the typical celebrity encounter story, offering insights into the significance of Bigfoot in Native American culture and highlighting her ongoing commitment to environmental advocacy and the preservation of indigenous folklore.
Through this unique chapter in her life, Elaine Miles continues to inspire and captivate, enriching her legacy as an actress, storyteller, and guardian of her heritage. Her Bigfoot sighting story is not just a personal anecdote but a powerful reminder of the mysteries that remain untold in the natural world and the importance of preserving these stories for future generations.

I remember, how in an interview years after the series ended, she once spoke of how she got tagged for the role. Her Mother was auditioning for the role of Ed Chigliaks's Aunt, and she was just sitting in the waiting room with her, minding her own business when the casting director spoke to her.

I’m Indigenous Native from a Federally Recognized Tribe in N. California and many of my family elders and even some tribal youth have seen it. I use to be interested in seeing it when I was a kid but now I realize that it follows people who’ve seen it before. I believe it’s Spiritual Being and it can choose to show itself or not. Elaine looks like a few of my Aunties who I don’t get to see that often and even some family members who have recently passed…I miss them so much. I appreciate seeing and hearing her experience. 🙋🏻‍♀️🤍👍🏽 I’m sharing this with all the doubters.

Yes they do exist. They disappear. I had one walk by me. We could hear the footsteps but it was invisible. Both of us heard it and the grass moved and the ground shook.. This was during a Reiki a attunement by a river. They are real. I wish people would respect them and leave them alone. Leaving gifts is good, like the berries or a pretty rock. Aho

Great interview. We often hear how people grow up hearing about Bigfoot, but don't necessarily think they'll actually ever have an encounter with one. As for the tracks ending, the same thing can be said for humans. There's tons of stories of manhunts, or search and rescues, where they simply lose the trail of someone because the tracks end, or the dogs even lose the scent at a particular spot.

Im one of them.I grew up Hearing Stories from my uncle Jerry Crew. Years later i and 3 others had a close up, undeniable experience . I think i handled it better mentally than the others, because i had been somewhat conditioned to the idea. 1 of the others had to undergo counseling for it.

@@AFloridaSon Yes sir. The Man himself. My Cousin { His daughter} has the cast to prove it.. I had my encounter after He had Passed. He would have been Elated at my Experience. I later did Interviews with People who had undeniable encounters. Not to Document but rather to let them release their stories, without fear of ridicule. I think that having Jerry helped break the ice with many, who would otherwise not have relinquished their stories. Contrary to Popular belief, not all who have undeniable encounters, see it as a cool or positive thing and would just assume it never happened and do not seek recognition for them. Yes, i have heard accounts that you will NEVER hear in the News.
