Vegas had is winning by 35 or something like that. From the outside that wouldnt seem too ridiculous, but if you live in Iowa you know that these two teams always take it down to the wire. The defense looked great except for the two big plays they allowed. The offense has a lot of work to do if that's how they plan to play the rest of the season. Overall, I'm not too worried by this game. Just remember how the season started last year.

My game take aways: We are still Iowa State, we play to the level of our competition, and give up stupid plays. On the positive side, Breece was not a fluke, he is GOOD. Our offensive blocking schemes seem to have improved, along with our consistently good defense.

The route combos weren't revealed at all the passing game was only used when needed. And yeah we used straight up blocking w some positional battles still happening and to not reveal our pull schemes. Similarly on defense we didn't reveal many blitz packages or coverage drops. Overall, we had our cards close to our chest and everyone underrating us like campbell likes

I will say Iowa used to have this exact same problem with them. I think we just need to stop playing them. Playing an in state FCS school with familiarity is always bad news.

It looked like the coaches just had a few things to test on offense (lots of play action; a screen pass, we didn't see that last year) and after that they reeled it in and didn't show anything, and they didn't have to to get the win, though for the fans it was painful and caused palpitations. On defense they were good apart from a few missed tackles that basically became most of UNIs points. Other than that they suffocated UNI.

ISU will need to step it up for Iowa this weekend but i can already hear and see the Iowa fans acting like they’re national champ contenders again. Delusional , No they’re far from that. And admittedly Indiana is over rated. It will be a tough game but I think isu will come out on top being played in Ames.

Looked like Iowa state was playing extremely conservative football. If you look at the stats they’re not bad or good they’re just incredibly mediocre. I think next week they’ll bring a hotter offensive attack. But overall I think theyre lacklustre. The offensive line has a lot of work to do.
