You've hit some of my favorite places that we visited when we were there. We rented a car and drove up along the coast, we stayed at The Causeway Inn, which was adjacent to the visitors center. We also walked out to the Giants Causewsy and took the bus back. Then, we drove over to the Dark Hedges. Prior to all of that, we visited Dunluce Castle. We also visited the Titanic Museum in Belfast, and on our most recent trip, we visited the Peace wall in Belfast and left our signature on it. Northern Ireland is truly a treasure to visit.

Snow and Curt we are really enjoying your trip and channel. We toured Ireland in July and your trip is following almost the exact same route. The algorithms must have hooked us up😊 we have lived in FL for 40 years and need to go back to your early days to see where it all began. Stay safe and healthy, and we look forward to all you have to yet experience. Gary and Kathy

Beautiful video and the caption is also quite original. I just want to mention that these basaltic columns are found in many countries, they are referred to as columnar jointed volcanics, but the most famous one is this one. I saw some in Yellowstone and they impressed me, in the USA there are many, of course you see the columns but you cannot walk on them. Thanks Snow and Kurt for this fantastic video.

Hari OM Fingal is the Irish lad... the Scots hulk was Benandonner and he lived on the isle of Staffa, where, ironically, you will find Fingal's cave, the basalted columnar sea cave which you can take a boat tour to. It's the other end of that 'bridge'... So glad you got to play there Snow!!! YAM xx

You’ll find basalt columns like this in eastern Washington as well as Oregon and in the Columbia River Gorge. All that lava came from fissures too about 16 million years ago.

Before mobile phone Wi-Fi in early '90s with Rick Steves book, I ended up flying from Derry to Scotland. Made it to Oban, next day was first ferry of season to Mull and 2 small islands. Staffa, a small island where these same formations arise again. Went to see Puffins but climbed down to Fingal's cave and saw a jelly fish in the wild. An accidental adventure.

Not sure how far behind your actual travels we are but if you haven't already been to Stonehenge, they used to have limited off hours access to the actual stones. Years ago while planning a trip, I was able to find a way to book a 1 hour block for sunrise. They allowed 15 people per 1 hour block during sunrise and sunset.

Another interesting video, you sure know how to get the best out of a place! I think that red layer in the rocks is probably Laterite. (That part of the crust was in a much warmer latitude back then). The hexagonal columns are especially tall because the lava pooled in an existing depression. Too long since I took Geology 🙂
