I am currently taking care of a baby Mockingbird I found in the street while on my evening walk. This magnificent creature is doing great. Hope to release it in 2 or 3 weeks. Among the smartest birds out there.

No one told me that this bird regularly sings at night too. I've head it at 1 & 2 AM chirping like it's the PM hours. The critter is LOUD too. I'm 75 years old and have NEVER run across a bird like this!!!! LOL

Favorite memory from my childhood. We had one that stood ontop of our chimney everyday, singing just like this recording. The sound filled our living room. My parakeet was a quick study, too. 😉

The immature males sing all night sometimes..we were hanging out by our fire pit a few years ago and we heard 2 different mockingbirds one in our neighbors backyard and one across street in front yard..they copied each other doing all different bird calls. One would do a call and the other would copy..and so on...we couldn't see but we listened for like 2-3 hours..up till 3:00 a.m...they did all are local bird calls. Bluejays, red belly woodpecker, Northern Flicker, nuthatch, downy woodpecker, hawks cardinal and a bunch of other call . They also did the car alarm just to switch it up..i recorded on my crappy phone at the time..

I remember 25 years ago sitting on a bench in Crossville TN watching a mockingbird call for half an hour non stop. As I listened it became apparent that this bird had a repertoire of hundreds of different sounds and he seemed to never repeat any of them the entire time.

I have a mockingbird that I never hear when the sun is up too and you can set your watch by him that he'll settle into the crepe myrtle bush across the street at 1:30 a.m. and sing his little heart out at a level of volume that is incredible! Much louder than even seems possible for a creature so relatively small: I swear, sometimes I think he has a speaker the size of those used by rock n roll bands that can be heard from 3 states away and is only visible to mockingbirds! But oh! The beautiful songs that come from that tiny throat are so pure and clear I can almost feel the envy of the angels in Heaven crackling like lightning bolts, warning of a summer storm blowing in and tho it's arrival is inevitable, the billowing black clouds hover haltingly, hesitant to intrude, as tho, it too, is listening, captivated & impressed by both the birds beautiful voice as well as his brave insistence on performing his finale' cuma laude forte' to ensure the full house standing ovation he so well deserves. Rising from my lawn chair I applaud softly, "Brava Boo!! Brava maestro Boo! Indeed sir!" Yes, I've named him Boo Radley after my favorite character in To Kill a Mockingbird. I fold my lawn chair and climb the steps to my porch just as the first huge tear drops of rain begin to fall.

Thank you SO much for this!! My precious baby boy, who was my best friend for 8 years, passed away in my arms on November 8th, and I swear he has come back as a mockingbird. Every time I sit at his grave this little bird gets closer and closer and he always comes around. I just needed sounds to bring him closer to us. So thank you so much for making this available!❤

My grandfather always had a way with mockingbirds. When he would come out onto his front porch he could whistle for them and they would come to the low branches and sing to each other . I miss my grandfather so much and whenever I'm having a bad day or if I just ask him , a Mockingbird will fly down and start singing to me😊

Several months back I had a Mockingbird who was intent on getting into my house --- They'd tap at all my windows, cling to the screening on my lanai and perch on plant hangers. Then they were gone --- Yesterday they returned and started up their pattern of tapping on windows and generally staying around my yard. However just now when I took my little dogs out, this lovely bird perched on low branch on my neighbors tree and went into the most beautiful song. Such wonderful birds.........

For those of you who are kept up by a song bird: pull up a KZbin video of a hawk, set it to loop and lay your phone on the windowsill. It usually scares off song birds or shuts them up (at least temporarily). It only takes 5-10 minutes of hawk to scare them away.

My number 1 most hated bird, climate change is doing a number on these fellows, and they're showing up in areas they shouldn't be, so no mates. Resulting in him calling for 20 hours a day, with no mate in sight. I've now resorted to these sounds in an attempt to defeat him in prowess to make him leave. I will literally take even 20 minutes of reprieve. It's so bad. I'm really close to ☠ it. Making it like Twitter. (silent) 😶
