I go in a pub in Bolton where we have a Northern Soul night every Saturday night and one night some young ones came in and stood there mesmerised but within 15 minutes one of the lads jumped on the dance floor and the moves came natural and after 10 minutes all 4 was on the floor..They now come in every Saturday night

@@OURNORTHERNSOUL That works when the vocal version is dire, like Sidra's Theme, but the clue is in the name of the genre "soul", and the vocals on this are perfect. No need to dilute the track by flipping the record. Imho

If I put this on my new OLED 55" TV with the volume and sound bar on quite loud, it's the nearest I can get to turning the clock back to the dance floor of the Torch in Tunstall and Wigan Casino in the seventies.

well my dear, many years ago when we used to go to Wigan, we would be off our faces on speed, and combined with the music and everything else, it was difficult not to smile, and chew, and chunter on to strangers.....................................:)

Too many great dancers to mention. Especially the girl with the Fred Perry and plats then the blonde girl with the white top. Great dancers that look like they're genuinly into the music. I hope they are! KTF

Great tune but hard to dance to ... on the Pendulum floor
@howardlockwood81843 жыл бұрын
What a club the Pendulum was and what sounds. Slow fizz, Butch Baker, Duke browner, tell me it's just a rumour, if you ask me, Eddie Parker, last minute miracle, little miss soul, you just don't know, one after another, they just kept coming. Richard Searling and Barry Tasker, Friday nights better than any.

Another great version of this is by ...Dena Barnes ,These Heartaches KTF
@thesoultwins724 жыл бұрын
Tony MacKinnon......'Great' - are you fkg serious?!? Firstly, it was not Dena Barnes singing .....secondly it was a Simon Sousson bootleg produced purely to cash in on the success of Duke Browner's original. In fact, it is utter shite and typical of the garbage being played at Wigan Casino in the late 1970's!
