They literally do it for Chili, the mom, where she demands 15 minutes to herself to hide in the bathroom and decompress. So Bandit, the dad, has to explain to the kids that she doesn't hate them and they didn't do anything wrong, parents just get overwhelmed sometimes and need to reset. Bandit, however, never gets that luxury. I love Bluey as a show that my kid has watched from when she was 4 to now as a 7 year old. But (and I don't know if it's done on purpose) they definitely make the dad look like ten times the parent that the mom is. It's kinda wild.

So all somebody needs to do is bring up a concept they thought was cool for a show for children that they have not seen because they aren't a child or some adult who overtly enjoys cartoons. They didn't even criticize the show beyond calling it kids television and yet people came out of the cracks to style on them for not watching a show for kids? Imagine if you were being goofed on for not knowing what happened in a specific paw patrol episode or something. I'm not saying Bluey is bad but it's okay if somebody doesn't want to watch something you like. You yourself can like it and that's fine. Bluey doesn't need to be the next MLP: FIM.

@heckssoda588 it's fine to show a dad who cares and does stuff with the kids, or takes a genuine interest in what's going on, like probably Jimmy Neutron's dad who asked questions and talked to them. It's another thing to have a caricature of a dad that is 10000% a pushover and gets physically assaulted or humiliated by the kids. Bluey (or a child watching who wants to be like Bluey) will not grow up into a 13 year old who respects Bandit (or their IRL dad) when stricter parenting is required.

I think you’re jumping to conclusions a bit too quickly based on a single episode and a couple of out-of-context clips. If you watch much more of Bluey, you’ll realize that Bandit plays along with his children’s antics entirely willingly and with little to no regrets; he doesn’t just let them do whatever they want without any restrictions, ; and actually does put his foot down and say “no” when he needs to. I mean, to be fair, I will agree to some extent that Bandit can be a little bit too lenient with the kids in some episodes and perhaps should say “no” a little more often (this episode, along with ones like Ice Cream, Kids and Hospital are good examples), but as long as Bandit isn’t being seriously hurt or isn’t completely spoiling his children, he is still an S-Tier dad in my book. He was named Father of the Year in 2019 for a reason.
