I have to say the worst thing about this game is the broken aggro with the shopkeeper. I got to level 15 and a mummy threw them bugs into a shop and hit the shopkeeper, so he killed me when I had like 8 hearts.

1. You can angle throws by holding up and down while throwing. 2. You can hang over edges by crawling towards them. 3. if you have a ton of bombs, you can probably just tunnel downwards instead of running through gauntlets.

Stick to the orange orb while holding the damsel then throw it, it's usually easier and safer like that, wait a little to be swallowed by the worm. In the worm there's a character at the bottom stuck in a green sack on the wall but in the middle section of the worm there's a pit of digestive juices which contains a knife which will replace your whip and insta kill ANY enemy.

The enigma of how the shop keeper and where the key was when he was killed by a ghost. First the shop keeper was killed by the caveman(i don't know there name) at 03:19 and the key was in the top right corner of the screen 08:04 .

I finally managed to open this short cut last night! Getting a bunch of bombs and a compass early was the ideal formula I needed. I was able to just bomb myself to the exits in the jungle and ice caves, it was actually pretty easy after having been trying for a couple days!

You CAN lower yourself on spikes by crawling, but not if you're one or more blocks above them. Also, it helps lowering yourself down ledges to scout for land instead of wasting roaps.

Hey Northernlion, do you know you can use ropes offensively? For example at 6:26 you could have prevented the damage. They can also trigger arrow traps.

My favorite part of that whole 3:00 to 4:00 fiasco was while he was making his odd comment, you can see flashes of light above him so you knew what was coming, but he was none the wiser. Also, that keeper was mad at NL because of an arrowtrap/enemy killing his hired gun.

NL, once you've got this shortcut nonsense under control and you're playing normally, make sure to unlock those golden chests whenever you can. They dependably contain an item called the Udjat Eye. in itself, it has the effect of the spectacles in revealing the gems inside walls, and on top of that, once you get to the jungle it will make a sound and graphical effect to show how close you are to a secret area called the Black Market, which contains around six shops, one of which (cont)

You don't need to walk in front of the exit to drop off damsels. Just drop them in front of the door and they'll walk through it, it'll save you ropes if your trying to bring a key with you or something.

One of the things different from the PC version seems to be a lack of frozen space - that is, unlike the PC where only a small amount of level beyond what you could see was moving, everything in the level acts concurrently - letting you have an angry shopkeeper before you could even see the bastard

Bomb boxes are just opportunities to get 4x more bombs if you have the money. They cost the same as 4 bomb bags and have the same # of bombs, but don't take up 4 shop spaces.

My last run, I started on the mines, went to the wheel thingy, won the jetpack, beat the mines, killed ok bitty, beat the jungle (for my first time), defeated the ice caves, owned the temple. After I got to 4-4 temple, there was a boss. Above him, tons of treasure. I threw all 7 of my bombs at him. But I got caught in the shitstorm of explosions.

Another protip with SPIKES: You CAN actually lower yourself onto them. So if you find yourself in a situation where you need to get something, and you can't walk across spikes... drop a rope over them, and slowly lower yourself down.

the shopkeeper (and Kali) will blame you for any kind of damage to his shop (or her altar). You could see a dead caveman in the kissing booth, I guess he was angry cause of that. Before thinking it's unfair, remember this is Spelunky, the game where you can be killed by the rock you just threw.
