You can also throw the boomerang like a rock. Throw it at an up angle and a down angle. Just hold up and throw it like you would to throw a rock upwards or downwards!

Theres a super complicated process where you can get an eggplant and throw it at yama's disembodied head where it will transform into a big grumpy eggplant that dies in one hit. you have to sacrifice a mystery box and and give the eggplant to hired help or something, super crazy process

yeah, have you been watching these vids? To get to city of gold you gotta buy the ankh, die on statue level of ice caves, getting the hedjet, kill anubis for the scepter, and kill anubis 2, and i think im leaving something out :P

Hey i really enjoy watching your videos of spelunky:)! If you ever get a the dead are restless level with no black market on it, feel free to go to the castle since the black market can still be found there and you will get a "free" cape, altar, and a 100% hired hand which you can: a) sacrifice at the altar at the same worth as a damsel (this equals A 100% KAPALA if you sacrifice both) or b) use him to get the awesome plasma gun into the city of gold ;)! And i suggest trying out the Crysknife!

At 4:20 you could have just climbed up to the gold, also use unconscious scorpions as jump boosts, they wake up facing the direction they're laying in so you can easily align them for a jump that you wouldn't make. Also rob the black market for good scores, you wont roll over 300k-400k without doing so.

Northernlion, killing critters like penguins, froglets, locusts etc give a lot of blood for the capala. Kill them with a shotgun or a boomerang. Its a great tip!

Hey, NL you should learn how to throw your bombs when you don't have the sticky stuff. It could help you get early creates and gold in pockets in the mine that take 2 bombs to get from the side and can be bombed from the bottom. Not to mention how crazy epic you look throwing them like bomber man. :D

I'd want to see you fight the shopkeepers more often. At the end of the day it's a necessary skill because it opens the possibilities for highscore runs and for free shotguns after the city of gold, as well as diamondmining vaultkeepers for an instant 100k+. I got to hell on my 10th run and beat Yama for 230k score, first time i mined vaults i instantly beat 500k and died at 5-1 :) so, go ahead and learn how to deal with those grumps. you'll like the results. Keep the series going. good luck!

Hey NL did you know that you can jump and use your pickaxe at the same time to dog 1 block above you? Use it, it is really usefull!

NL, you should consider practicing to fight shopkeepers. Sometimes buying a shotgun in the Black Market and then killing everyone can save an otherwise bad run or put you in a really good position to beat hell. You're not as bad as you think you are, you just need to stop being so flustered when you lose early.

True, but then you run into that on situation where you need one rope you don't have to get the Kapala or open the chest. Bombs are way more useful but with 11 to 5 I'd rather use one bomb than risk running out of ropes at the wrong moment.

He has a ways to go. You just got the game and you think it's hard, that's cute and dandy and all but Ryan has sunk literally hundreds of hours into Spelunky now and he still can't reliably ghost, or farm the city of gold, or even go through the Mothership just for the sake of having the plasma cannon for the temple (or, again, to farm the city of gold). Yeah, the game is hard, but so are a lot of games. You naturally get better at them as you play. NorthernLion has a lot of space to improve.
