The egg does that so much. Could duplicate the 6s and deal 12 damage? Ooooorrrrrr.... could duplicate the 6s, turn them into 2s and deal 6 damage! He just gets a little bit of tunnel vision.

He's also done a ton of splitting ones instead of bumping a five into a six and splitting that into two threes. I get that sometimes as the thief you want low rolls, but he then uses them in slots that could've benefited from a three.

idk it seems like at 38mins in it should have turned all his dice into 2's instead of 4's. Once he had the two 2's in there it even said 'set all dice to 2' and then proceeded to turn all his dice into 4's.... There was no indication in the description that it would add the 2's and make 4's....

I think you undervalue poison, it's similar to Slay the Spire, 3 poison is actually 6 damage just over 3 turns. Even on turn 2 it's 5 damage which is more than just putting three 1's into dagger. Upgraded dagger is different obviously but you get the point. Detonator makes poison really good too even with just an upgraded poison needle. Good play either way.

Alright, so I'd need to go back and track it, but remember the 4 you cut the value in two of against the final boss fight? I think you put *that* two into the skeleton key, which made them all into 4s which... I didn't know that was a thing, I don't think anyone did, allow me to go and check! OK! tracking done, you duplicated the 4 that became a two, and then put both of the duplicated blocks into the skeleton key, I think THAT'S what happened, since skeleton key is supposed to set things to the dice put in, and that block was technically a 4 that was halved.... a very strange interaction, to say the least, not one you could have expected. Despite all the other mistakes you make, that one isn't on you, that's for sure.

I'm 99% sure that's a bug. In other situations on a certain other character, there are multiple equips that say "split the value in half", and none interact like that. It seems to me that the game for some reason tracked the two's as four's still, which is really really weird.

@@314Marvin What I find weird about it if true is that it is referencing the value of the die itself to inform what each dice should be set to when the weakened version is specifically statically defined to set all dice to 2. Like I get how it could happen - you're basically mimicking the behavior of the original version of the equipment by doing so. Just that in this instance not hard coding it seems to have introduced a bug due to an unintended side effect of another interaction.

Egg, when it says Odd, just throw a 1 there. On that early Magician fight, you lost out of Turn 1 damage by throwing the 3 into the shield and throwing 1s into dagger when you could have thrown the 1 into shield and your 3 deals 2 more dagger damage. Oh man, and the bad math plays of not using sixes for attack, instead transforming it into a 3 to deal 4 damage instead of 6. Eggggggggg

I would like to get on my soapbox and say "End the splitting and duplicating of 1s!" Honestly you are getting one extra damage out of doing so...it's usually not gonna make much difference. I keep hearing: "as a thief you want 1s" no you can use 1s as the thief more efficiently than other classes but you want 3s because...and hear me out here: 3s are 3x bigger than 1s and even 2s are twice as big as 1s in dagger and it makes a big difference!

Doesn't poison do more damage as it stacks up? 3 damage first turn, lose one, 5 damage next turn, lose one, 7 damage next turn etc. If you spend 3x 1 dice each turn, the stacks should go up fast, and you'll do a ton of damage - and the rest can go to dagger.

lol, the poison doesn't even adhere to that in my game. It damages for the highest its been, within that application period, every turn until gone. So stacking to 5, gets 25 damage, instead of 15. It makes you think twice about adding more poison if you didn't for a turn or two. Adding 2 poison after its dropped to one, makes the new damage per turn, three. Ya see. Pretty cool I think.

I like this game a lot but it hurts. "we'll put the 1 in to unlock our damage dealer, even though it could've been 2 damage... so that we can put the useless 4 into peashooter and charge up towards doing 2 damage later with another dice in addition" I don't wanna be a big ol backseater that gets this game killed (like slay the spire, which I stopped watching fairly early on) but I can't just let super minor misplays stand!

The skeleton key issue on the boss was definitely a bug, but the rest of your play on the boss fight was... ehhhhhh... If you have a couple of 3s and you're about to change all dice to 2s, why not use the 3s on Dagger first for extra damage before changing everything to 2s?
