You actually don't need the drill for the crown. If you forget the udjet eye, you can dig your way with bombs/pickaxe, and you have explosive boxes to speed up the process.

Northerlion you can use the spike balls in lava world to dig down to dracula's castle without the ujad eye. Just make sure on the drill level to rush to the bottom so you don't run out of time

Y'know, it's true that the eye is sometimes annoying to get, but half the trouble you have is not actually scoping out the levels to find the best route to it, floors are set up that if you generally look downwards on each floor you can figure out where the udjat room is in advance, and that helps you reach it with 2-3 resources at most, often 1-2 bombs (or 1 bomb 1 rope) from above instead of trying to go through like 4 bombs worth from a side, which can be a tad steep but IMO still worth. Anyways what I'm saying is actively checking below you would make the dwellings at large go better.
