here come two of the best advice tlips for your entire spelunky career: 1. GO FASTER dont waste time sticking around enemies giving them chances to mess with you and the faster you finish the easy parts of the level the longer you have for decision making when you meet something difficult 2. DONT FIGHT ENEMIES FOR NO REASON if you can run past/jump over an enemy you cut your chances of getting hit by that enemy by a ton

i would consider myself pretty decent at the game and yeah if you can avoid shopkeepers its for the best because they end a good chunk of all runs

I got my first win today and got like 4 times the score he got on his first win without killing any shopkeepers and spending like 100K on the black market. Seriously, you can get on average like 16K per level on the dwellings, Derek was right when he said law-abiding runs are a lot more viable on this game than in the first one.

He needs to stop aggroing SKs, sacrificing himself to the spikes, throwing himself at bats or lava or carrying around the ghost pot, in fact, he should drop Volcana for a while, AND: stop worrying about the Kapala. Egg is to blame for sure, but this game plays with your greed, man... UPDATE: NL has dropped Volcana, but he argues against Vlad's cape. I'd say he should flat out say he can't for now do Volcana and Vlad effectively. I admit that, I tried facing that area, is hot garbage, no bullshit.
