NL, mountains don’t give health on their own. When you put 4 around that top right treasury, your health didn’t rise a single point. They do, however, make meadows bloom. So if you were to place them all adjacent and the meadows diagonal, you’d come out with the same amount of blooming meadows and an extra 40 max hp. The same goes for rocks, by swapping the the positions of rocks and meadows that you do normally you can get an extra 4 health per rock. The armor after every loop upgrade is a bit misleading, it doesn’t matter when you take it. When you took it, you gained 4 armor immediately because you were on loop 4. Then you gain 1 armor for every loop afterwards.

It takes up a slot that you could use for something else, also fills your hand, and will generally create some ghosts. (Not to mention mimics) The deck he selected at the beginning could be played without cocoon and treasury and it would be a 7 card deck, giving you more consistent blood grove, vampire mansion, and oblivion.

I actually fought the boss on my first ever run, but he is essentially unbeatable the first time you run it

I beat him first run on loop 9. It was dicey but it's def not unbeatable. I had one hit left when I won and I also didn't know you could destroy his palaces he spawns. Every streamer I have seen play this goes for counter and weird plays with gear and skills that I didn't even have when I beat the lich that I just can't comprehend.

I might have got very lucky but i beat him my 2nd run while on enemy lvl 6. Had the armour skill perk literally just before the fight and I barely survived. Since then as I unlocked more stuff I only get more pwned each run 😅

That is not quite true. He gets a lot of power from the houses he places down, which I have noticed last video can only appear on empty spaces, so if you put a lot of shit around your campfire (both on and off the road) he is a lot weaker without you having to have saved a billion obliviate cards. Also it helps to get lucky and just have some really good equipment (a high-end evasion+regenpersecond build seems like it'd be able to defeat basically anything I know of so far). But even if it is possible to beat the lich on the first run, it's not like it's required or anything. You have as many runs as you need to get it done and there's no reason to get frustrated over losing the first bunch of times.

I downloaded the demo today (damn you streamer resin) and beat the lich on I think my 3rd or 4th run, had a trait that healed from counterattacks and another that gave counterattacks through evasion. Absolutely cant wait for march 4th, this game is of the heaviest pog.

When I saw the screenshots on steam I just kinda passed on looking further into this game, when I actually saw the game play, it's like "yeah that looks like something I would enjoy", don't get me wrong it isn't the "retro" graphics that made me not interested, it is just that it looked like a very retro RPG and quite simply while I love RPGs the older ones where very... grindy, which is why Disgaea is what it is, it was a spoof on just how grindy RPGs were where you could get rediculous levels many times over and it was one big parody of the genre it was. Now that I see it is grindy in the way Slay the spire or BoI is grindy where no single run takes all that long but you do run after run after run to unlock more and more items for future runs, yeah I don't mind that one little bit.

You can get more blooming meadows around the treasury by placing a rock on opposite sides of the building, then place 3 meadows along each other side, which will bloom next to the building and rocks, giving you 6 instead of 4.

Good evening NL, just thought I'd let you know that for the meadows to transform into the better meadows they can also be placed near your vampire castles, spider cocoons or blood groves. that way you can have more mountains and rocks near each other giving you more health via their adjacency bonus. I am sure you were already aware of this but was a just in case sort of thing. Keep up the entertaining content I hope this becomes/stays a full series.

I would recommend bringing the crystal and light posts. Being able to have stackable reduced mob spawns by 1 is really good with light post and having crystals placed on the borders where you don’t have mob spawns would increase day healing from 2 to 6 from trees. You can place posts inside on inverted coves to cover 7 squares and make monster areas and with villages, have healing areas that spawn strong mobs and bonus loot.

That potion skill is good if you ensure that you are low enough to use the potions. But that in itself is incredibly scary. Its specially good for a run with Swamps after you upgrade the herbalist (increases potion cap to 6).

Min/max: put rocks diagional so u can put mountains between them (mountains are potentially +20, rocks are only +8 with a minimal +2) generally u get +10 with mountains by staggering rocks

Destroying a Mountain Peak made from rocks can give you Mountains. Mountains on the even squares of a 5x5 outline, fill it with Rocks in a 3x3 for a Mountain Peak, finish surrounding it with Mountains. (Corners of the 5x5 can optionally be filled before the Mountain Peak is completed) Obliviate center of Mt. Peak to get Mountains, fill the empty square with a Meadow. Can now be repeated in a different location. Requirements: A 5x5 empty space, not adjacent to three consecutive rocks/mountains. 9 Rocks, 16 Mountains, 1 Oblivion, 1 Meadow. Gives: 292 to 340 max hp Heals 3 hp at the start of each day. Note: You can accomplish the same thing with 24 Mountains and 1 Meadow, if you have a lot of Mountains. Note 2: If you already have a Mountain Peak somewhere else, feel free to put a Mountain in the center instead of a Meadow.
