Nice round up. I just got back from a holiday where I took a Go Pro 10, 12 and a Insta360 Ace Pro with me. To summerize my own findings, I wouldn't go near a Lexar card again (having said that, the silver/black 1066x worked well with my Go Pro 7 years ago). Favourite card was a 256Gb Sandisk Extreme Pro. For my DSLR, an old Transcend SD card and a newer Gigastone one, both worked well.

I bought the PNY 1TB Pro Elite U-3 V30 in July 2022 for about $100 Worked FINE, until Jan 2023 in my GoPro 10. Then it CRAPPED OUT and is WORTHLESS. Going with Sandisk from now on. Brian in Colorado

SanDisk now has a "GamePlay" card that is V30 U3 rated. Does anyone have experience with this one? I would do the Extreme Pro, but was worried about fake cards (as none of the Pro are actually sold by amazon directly but by 3rd party sellers on amazon).

Gopro hero 12 can't utilize uhs-ii (the gooro bus interface is on uhs-i) so v60 won't be utilized to it's full potential as these usually can hit higher than the 130max write speed that the gopro can hit. Just stick to a v30 that has a max write speed of at least 130. Anything more is just a waste of money for the gopro.

I’m confused , does that mean those cards can only hold up to 4k videos ? GoPro hero 12 can record in 5.3k , in order to do that I would need the v60?

All the cards listed should be able to record in 5.3k. that's why GoPro is recommending them as they have been tested.

The GoPro is designed to work with all the mentioned cards. However, the writing will be faster on the v60 and 90 cards. They are also more future proof if You would like to use it with different cameras down the road that maybe shoot something higher like 8k. If anyone else watching has used the faster cards, what has your experience been?

They've got many models that are higher than that on their list. I use 256 GB cards all the time without problem.

The GoPro doesn't need need an SD card reader. It's a micro SD card that fits inside the camera. Glad you've enjoyed the videos and thanks for watching 👍

As much as I want to stay away from Korean products, In my experience, none come close to Samsung Pro Ultimate micro SD cards in my HERO 12. All others struggle, causes freeze and/or heats up and drains battery. BTW, This is on a full resolution, 10-bit and highest bitrate long capture.
