Victoria is on Vancouver Island and has DOZENS of great beaches. This is my collection of the BEST for different reasons, the best for science explorers, the best for birders and history buffs, the best for urban wind sports, the best for families, and the best to kickback before leaving the island. See the beaches from the air, the ground, in rain and sun, and hopefully you'll save some time on a visit and find the right one for you.

For swimming the best beaches are the lakes inland: Elk lake, Thetis Lake, Shawnigan lake,etc.

check out Grand Beach Manitoba. it's on one of 2 of the largest fresh water lakes in the world. And it is rated one of the best beaches in the world. Only one hour drive from Winnipeg.

I lived in Victoria, BC, the capital of British Columbia. And Victoria BC existed before Victoria Australia.
