We finally leave Mobile Alabama and get back to cruising! We move along the intracoastal waterway after crossing a bumpy Mobile Bay, and anchor with friends close to Pensacola. We make a quick trip to see friends in Georgian and then we are back to heading east with an eye to staging near Carabelle for the Gulf crossing.

I grew up in Gulf Shores near Lulus,it was a great place In the 60s till the 80s now it’s too many people living here.Traffic is terrible in the warm months take 45 minutes to go 5 miles coming from Foley.I’ve anchored many times in Ingram bayou on shrimpboats that I’ve build.Been to Pirates Cove too.Subscribed to follow along to Florida as I’ve spent a lot of time there too.Enjoyed watching this video and I had a 36 Albin for 3 years

It's a beautiful area and of course, not busy in the winter!

Another lazy day going south. Enjoy it all because the Gulf is a quiet laidback stretch. Hope the chowda was good.

i used to live just north of Gulf Shores, Alabama. Enjoyed seeing you go down the IC near there. Too bad you couldn't stop at Lulu's....good food there.

Enjoying your videos! What is the decibel level (there's an app for that) there on the lower helm? I'm sure the mics pick up more of the diesel than you probably actually notice... but still wondering if it's in the 70's or 80's range... thanks again for the great coverage of your trip!

I'm not really sure in decibels. It's a pretty steady hum for sure. As you can tell, without the mics it's virtually impossible to hear our voices over the engine noise. Even with the mics it's challenging. One day, better mics!

I've been going to Joe Patti's since I was a kid in the 70s. It makes it hard to buy frozen seafood at the grocery store after that.

It was amazing. I've always loved Manhattan clam chowder, but this was out of this world fresh. Very lucky to have that there.

Another awesome episode! Looks like you are using navionics. I have that as well. What kind of tablet are you using and do you find it bright enough to read? My phone (Goggle Pixel 7 Pro) is sometimes hard to read on the boat..

It's a Samsung 7e I believe - the version with GPS. It's fine to read. In bright sunlight it can heat up and get a bit squirrely. We haven't been up on the flybridge much with it since last summer. I think in direct sunlight it gets a bit more challenging. We use Aqua maps too...when we reached the rivers it became super helpful. It shows things in statute miles, and the river systems operate in that, rather than nautical miles. The tow operators will talk about statute so it's good to have both. We've heard Aqua Maps is better on the east coast as well.

I have both Navionics and Aquamaps ony phone.. around Lake Ontario, Navionics works great. I might pick up a tablet in the summer. At the moment I'm tinkering with a new Yacht Devices Autopilot on my workbench. I'm expecting UPS to drop of my new satellite compass tomorrow. So excited.. I couldn't get a regular flux gate calibrated properly on my steel boat :)

Enjoy following along - well done video & content. Curious what video camera 'system' you are using? Thanks in advance.

Ha, just our cell phones and sometimes a small Sony vlogging camera...but it doesn't do well in low light so we don't pull it out very often. We have Samsung S21 cell phone cameras.

Broken, but not sure how. It all started back in late November. I may have to push to get it looked at again! It feels better but it's still not 100%
