Such a beautiful boat. I just received here in Vancouver Canada my first Volan 160. I’m amazed at how playful and nimble this boat is. Frankly, paddling anything else is like a bathtub. Love your videos.

Did my shake down run today. This yak is nice. Going to take some getting used too. It’s a lot more maneuverable then I’m used too. The Skeg locks her in solid. Fun yak. I think it will really shine when loaded !

Congratulations with the new ship!! 🥳🎂 It is very manouvrable on edge. Didn't need to use the skeg a lot. I'm using the 158 however, maybe yours hes less draught when not loaded. Have fun with it!!

@@Northseakayak Thank you ! Yes not loaded on edge in hard turn the rear is out of the water, turns very tight. Not complaining just it’s a new experience. Who ever put the seat together didn’t run all straps correctly. The band was locked down solid against the seat. The straps were under the straps for hip pads. I redid them and now have back support. Just having to learn this yak. Excited to do so !

Fantastic-looking boat Dimitri! I am torn between this and the Aries 155 as a day-paddling boat. Care to share insights into the two? Regards from Iceland.

Cheers Thordur! Both are good boats. I will write a full review on the Volan within a few months. Need to do thorough testing before. Already can tell you that it is a bit faster, and it tracks a bit better than the Aries. I'm currently waiting for good surfing conditions to test the Volan even further. At this point, I consider the Volan a mini expedition boat, and also good for coaching (very manouvrable). Cheers! 👌😊

ha ha! Thanks Dimitri, you read my mind! It looks a beautiful spec with the kevlar. Was the skeg pre-drilled for the recovery string or did you add it? What's the white attachment in front of the compass? Is that for your GoPro? I note inside the footwell you have some green panels for your heels. Again did you add those or are they part of the spec now? Just a shame P&H haven't updated the toggles to more hand-friendly carrying toggles. I can't wait to see your review and try a demo one myself

Haha, Ian, I told you! 🙂Thank you for the nice compliment! The recovery string is standard. Attachement is for the GoPro indeed. I have added the green pads. But, have a close look and you see that P&H added extra resin with a softer feel in that area. Review within a few months, check THE PADDLER Magazine. Have a fine weekend!!
