As someone who's getting into the mycology industry I gotta say there are plenty of pressure cookers that hit 15 psi for only a slight increase in price than a 10psi cooker. Do yourself a favor and don't throw away money on one that won't hit 15. You're just going to upgrade as soon as you get your first contamination anyway so spend the extra 20-50 and save a hundred or more

Good work man and thanx I wanna grow cordyceps and make tinctures Its weird to see the difference in substrate and method of growing compared to almost all other medicinal and gourmet mushrooms Very peculier mushroom , probably because it actually grows on insects when growing outdoors Btw what would happen if you would add al those nutrients to an Oyster substrate? Thank you, William. Do you know if there is any studies comparing the energy of wild grown cordyceps compared to the cultivated? First off, much respect to William & Northspore, I often reccommend your products and information in discussions regarding mycology and natural farming. So, I'm concerned, while minimal, there may be heavy metal and plastic contamination getting into the jar when drilling into it. Would it be good practice to remove the lid to drill the hole and then rinse it + wipe it down with alcohol? Might be overkill but for growing such an amazing fungi I think we should probably create the best environment as possible.

Hello, I have a very important question. I am considering using the following ingredients: Rye grain, parrot seed mix, brown rice flour, vermiculite. My question is this: Will it be successful after colonizing my jar (possibly, I would hope:) then directly transfer the colonized substrate to the fruiting chamber and add only - first layer of perlite, middle layer of mycelium, upper layer of vemiculite. Are these nutrients enough? thanks in advance
