"Not todaaaaaaay!" I love the edits in this video. It's reenforced your good sense of humor, and how much fun it must have been to fix that other guy's faux pas. "Sub" in flux while reballing the GPU was stealthy! I never heard of disabling the GPU audio interface. Darn near forgot that GPU's had an audio interface. I guess Brand-X GPU's forgot about that too.

I'm currently having some issues with a card that I've left with a technician for repair as his first repair failed and I couldn't help but notice that he didn't even do the simple curtesy of blowing out the dust from the heat sync while he had the card fully disassembled. I am AMAZED and puzzled by this video! Amazed by your immense skills, the multiple-reball of ALL memory chips in one go was epic. The patience and persistence on this item is unbelievable. Puzzled because a 2080Ti sells for £350. You put a huge amount of work on that card which is also a no-brand. While it's absolutely fantastic that you managed to fix it, I wonder how much you can charge for such a repair! I don't meant to be rude or patronising in any ways, I'm just wondering how much profitable that can be. That said, this is an amazing video, thank you for that and well done! (and remember that Siglent has a web interface and VNC available! :) )

From experience, most cards at least up until the 3000 series, not sure for 4000, the four spring screws for the cooler mount were always done underneath the backplate. This is because technically from factory the backplates were an optional addition and not a necessity, and thus the spring pressures are set for NOT mounting through the backplate.

I sent my RX 6800 away to be repaired only for the shop to keep my card for 3 months and send it back telling me they did not have the software to properly troubleshoot the card. Only thing that was done was a visual inspection of the card for cracks and burned components. Thankfully my wife just happened to be in his city for a business meeting and she picked it up. A waste of $50 in shipping and lots of time. Now I'm still looking for a reputable place here in the Philippines to get the card repaired.

What is mad is how much abuse these cards can put up with without actually breaking. You can run them with the resistors in the wrong places, run them with broken connections, shorts and then during repair heat it all up several times over and over. Sometimes you'll get broken chips but you can just replace them with another and its fine? Then you fix all the issues and everything runs as id the card was never touched. I'd always thought of these cards and other conputer electronics as extremely fragile. One short while powered would fry every chip on the power rail, one diy transistor repair with the wrong value and it's straight to the e-waste bin. But actually, it's just a matter of fixing the issue and everything is fine? So crazy.
