Just rebuilding my 72 750 box ATM, very stiff to shift so redoing it. This helps a lot, thanks.

...and the problem was the cogs with selector forks Mainshaft 3rd and layshaft 2nd are possible to fit on the wrong shafts. Now fixed.

Chris are those new casings made thicker so they don't crack so easily ?

Not sure, but I don't think so. The shell wouldn't fit with the inner casing if so, and they're definitely flush with each other. Away at present but will double check on my return.

It's not the grease on your hands / fingers that may cause corrosion; it's the acid on your fingers.

I have gearbox assembled as end of this video but the two top gears don’t align at exactly the same height. The gear on layshaft is 94000 th higher than the main shaft gear. Should this be a concern and what could be the problem if the gears lower in the case that are opposing are aligned?

I'm afraid I'm not quite sure what you mean, but if the gears aren't aligning properly then that could be caused by either a damaged/misfitted bearing, a bent mainshaft or layshaft, or a damaged/missing bush inside the gears themselves.
