@@u3210 i've only been in Norway as an exchange student... I'd say if you need a car depends on what you want to do... for living in a city there is pretty good public transport (atleast in the bigger ones like Trondheim, Bergen and Oslo) and between citys there are good train/airplane connections ... but if you wanna do anything in the country side, especially up north you are out of luck if you don't have a car I'd say... for example in Lofoten, which is quite touristy but sparsely populated (so normal-ish for norwegian standards?) there are like 5 busses along the main "highway" per day and thats it

@@u3210 Hi, Norwegian here. As John said you can absolutely get by without a car. We have well built public transport systems (trains, trams, busses and subway) especially in the cities, but outside of the cities there will also be busses or trains. If you live very remote there will be fewer, but if you live like an hour outside one of the cities there will be one every 20-30 minutes I'd say. The government of Norway will be very pleased with you if you plan on not having a car as they're encouraging people to use more public transport or electric vehicles. Better for the planet :)
