Mission impossible with Tom Cruise have been in Norway two times. First at the Pulp-it rock and during the pandemic they used the train line from Åndalsnes as the movie set for MI8

in 2022 I was a tourist in my own country (that is Norway) and travelled with Hurtigruten (Norwegian coastal voyage). That's a 11 day cruise along our coast line from Bergen to Kirkenes that is located near Russia and back. Calls at 34 ports along the way, each way. Search for "Hurtigruten" or "Kystruten"

Norwegian here 😊 I am very fortunate, because my job is to drive all around Norway by car visiting customers, so I get to see a lot. There are more places I have visited and stayed in Norway than not. Many Norwegians don't travel in Norway for some reason, but we travel a lot to warmer countries. Norway in the summer can get very warm, and winters very cold, so it's a nice balance with the seasons. I could mention a whole bunch of places not mentioned here, there are too many to choose from 😅 This is 8 months old now, did you get to visit Norway yet?

I live in Oslo. The Pulpit Rock was a location ib Mission Impossible Fallout starring Tom Cruise. The Atlantic Road was a location in the last James Bond Movie. Rjukan three hours from Oslo that he did not visit was the location of the film and true story of the Heroes of Telemark from 1965 starring Kirk Douglas as the leader of a group of Norwegian saboteurs destroying the production facilities for making the Nazi atomic bomb. In the same province you willl find the Telemark canal with a more than 100 kms with locks connecting lakes and rivers. The canal opened in 1892 and you can still travel with the same passenger ship Victoria. One hour from Oslo you can find Mjøsa lake where you can travel with the Skibladner paddle steamer from 1854. I also made the hike to Galdhøpiggen and Glittertind that are the two tallest peaks in Scandinavia. Last year I visited Svalbard. We stayed in Longyearbyen. We visited the Russian mining towns Barentsburg still active and Pyramiden that was abandoned in 1998. To visit these towns is like a time travel to Soviet times. Oslo is surrounded by a large forest with hundreds of lakes and wild life like elk i.e. moose. Oslo is also situated on the Oslo fjord where you ca n do island hopping and go swimming on salt water an fresh water beaches. I have visited most of Europe, all countries in Europe except two and some 25 other countries including 14 states in the US. This month I have booked a trip to the Azores, an archipelago in the Atlantic being a part of Portugal,

No, not all of Norway is like this. I grew opp in the eastern central part of Norway. And I'm now back here. It has it's beuty too, with deep forests, lakes...flat river valleys. But I have lived in Trondheim, Oslo, Kristiansand, Ålesund and many places here in the eastern parts. I have also been to Tromsø and Alta and the Geirangerford an other places. It IS a beatiful country almost all over. But with a very diversed landscape. :)

Could you get a Noway VISA by living in Svalbard? No, they closed that loophole after too many had found it. That said, it's easy enough to get a work permit without tricks. All you have to do is to learn Norwegian, the easiest language in the world to speak well enough to sound like a native, and offer some needed expertise.

Ahhh, so I'm not the only one who thought of that loophole 🤣 Is it really that easy to get a Norway visa?

@@TeacherPaulReacts Yes, really. The country is crying out for labor. In particular, if you're a carpenter, welder, or programmer you can pretty much book your flight today. Norway also lacks 27,500 teachers. In particular in science, math, English, French, and German.

@@TeacherPaulReacts There is no separate VISA for Norway as we are part of Schengen. Svalbard is not part of Schengen,. When your Schengen visa expires you can choose to go to Svalbard instead of returning to your home country. If you have a job offer from a Svalbard employer, you can apply for a Norway transit visa. In Longyearbyen Norwegian language is not a requirement but preferred . Approx 250 Thais and Filipinos work and live in Longyearbyen enjoying the benefits of the visa exemption.

I live In the LOfoten and VEsterålen Islands. So that's 2 hrs north of where the football field was. I've been lucky travelling through work. Have not been to Asia or Oceania yet, and not Iceland either. But getting there. Oslo is ok, if you want to see the southern part of Norway. You just have to decide what you want to see. AND I advice you to excersise up front, since there's a chance there'll be quite the amount of hiking....unless you're loaded and can rent a helicoptre. :D :D :D Here's a list from Wikip. on 'Films shot in Norway. Guess one of the most famous must be "Empire strikes back" (Star Wars) I see a few Norwegian, but internationally released films that are not on the list, like Trollhunter and Trolls, and other's as well. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Films_shot_in_Norway
