the US team of 2000 bears almost no resemblance to the 2021 USWNT, 20 + yrs - the crisp passing, dogged defense are yet to come. Congrats to the Norwegians! Bravo!!!!! (small players! on both sides of the pitch. Looks like 3 or 4 inches average player height increase.. I see the greatness in Mia Hamm.

At least the USWNT here in 2000 couldn't blame someone who quit on the team after the WWC because she was convinced that she couldn't go on maternity leave and come back the same world class player, as countless players have proved otherwise over the years, as to why they didn't win the gold medal, unlike 16 years later in Rio...
