You mean uncomfortable? It's quit the opposite. They are some of the most comfortable straps I have. Having said that, it is a daypack. I was surprised to that leather straps with no padding could be this good. But they distribute the weight very nice. So give it a try you'll be surprised. Greetings Wim

Just bought one, a civil version (burgundy, canvas straps) but leather/steel frame looks the same. Regards
