Old video, I know. Just checking out the back catalogue. I think Christianity was more influential in Scandinavia in the early 90s when these burnings took place. But now? Scandinavia (and pretty much most of Western civilization) has bent the knee to its new god, being cultural Marxism/Bolshevism, which honestly, I think is worse. And it seems Islam is major problem n Scandinavia, especially Sweden.

I've always said don't burn churches. Nice buildings overall. Convert them into bars, rehearsal spaces for bands and whorehouses. Burn the newer ugly ones. And I think you answered your own question about darkthrone. It's all about Fenriz's passion. I didn't use to like em at all. Then when they released The cult is alive I remember some mates of mine moaning that the cds were only good as coasters. Got curious, checked it out, and thought to myself - Holy shit, it sounds like Gehennah. Became a fan. Gradually found some love even for their old shit afterwards. But I don't think anybody in their right mind could accuse those two of being posers. A ridiculous amount of devotion always seems to drive them. They kinda lost me with the last three albums though. The underground resistance is the fukken pinnacle IMO

Some bands can do changes and do it well, some not so much. Why people say "Deicide sucks after the first 2 albums" is ridiculous, some of the later stuff is hit and miss, but still tolerable. I love the later Carcass stuff, although the little bit I heard of the newest album was just not good. I will give it another listen. Later Mayhem, more so "Chimera" (2004) and on have been enjoyable. Funny enough the album "Chimera" was the first Mayhem album I ever purchased. Burzum I just could never get into, I feel that's a band for edgy wannabe metal heads these days. As for the church burnings, I use to not even bring it up to people asking me if I like metal, nowadays, I do, and they ask my opinion and I say "Big f*cking deal" lol. Some don't like that response. Especially co-workers. I guess they shouldn't of asked. Great video!

The only Darkthrone I like is "Soulside Journey". I liked them when they thought Swedish death metal ruled. But then Euronymous yelled at them and told them listening to Entombed and wearing sweat pants was forbidden.

I hear a lot of people rip on the newer darkthrone stuff cause its not Kvlt from when they were full on black metal,which is my favorite from them, but darkthrone has always switched up their style since the beginning so its kind of expected, i actually like the later stuff they put out(punk and 80s metal) cause I'm personally a fan of those genre's, and darkthrone still keep it raw sounding so its not a hard stretch in sound and they still put heart into it so they get a pass from me , but it's all preference at the end of the day, but I think the difference with bands like morbid is they been straight up death metal with very minimal change in sound , once they put out that weird techno shit album it was game over, can't have a particular sound and make a hard left super late in the game, at least darkthrone some what changed it up from the beginning so they won't catch too much shit from fans, i could be wrong but that's my opinion in it

I actually like most of the Darkthrone albums up until 2013. Arctic Thunder, Old Star, and Astral Fortress are mostly crap. Eternal Hails was surprisingly good.

I honestly like every Darkthrone album, I think it’s cuz they continue the spirit of the underground still in every album. The crust punk records are killer, FOAD and Hate them are some of my fave stuff they ever did. They have changed ton fursure, anybody who says otherwise is an idiot and probs doesn’t even listen to them. Do you like the Norwegian band tulus? if not certainly scope it out. The first album is some groovy black metal 2nd wave stuff

I am from Sweden and yes, things are probably a lot more chill here than what I imagine in the bible belt in the US. But christianity has a place here, it is the official religion and there is a political party that Base their views and politics on it. Most people who are members of the church are so only because you join at birth and they're too lazy to sign the one form needed to exit. As I said in my question, I don't mind it. I don't shout from the rooftops about burning more of them but I'd be far from sad if it happened more. Fuck 'em. I was a lot more up in arms about it in my teens though, born in 85 as J-Dawg here. And you should check out the two latest Mayhem releases, Daemon and Atavistic Black Disorder. You might just like it.

I do like a good amount of BM bands But not really that Norwegian stuff stuff like burzum Immortal mayhem gorgoroth Satyricon and dimmu borgir is more style than substance All the kids that liked that stuff when I was going to school now like rap don't listen to metal or became a hipster What's crazy is seeing those kids come back to school after summer all metal lol I've always thought euronymosus and varg were lovers Everything I've read no euronymos/ made him sound like a try hard/poser Darkthrone aren't really a bad I care for

In Sweden at least christianity is not prevelent at all, sure there are Jehovas wittnesses and other nutjobs but it only like less than 5% of people actually goes to church. Most people who are still apart of the church does that to like perserve churches as like historical pieces and shit or because they are to lazy to actully leave.
