I returned on 3-12-23, last Sunday. It was a good voyage. I hope you are having a great journey. If I stand corrected, you dock tomorrow at 7am. As soon as you get on and get situated, it's over. I've done 14 day cruises. 14 days is just right.

We last sailed the Encore in 2021 and watched your video to whet our appetites for our upcoming revisit. And, ohmysweetlord, whet our appetites it did! I wasn't able to eat much last time (medstuff, losing seven lbs!) and I'm drooling over what I missed and, no doubt, will overdo on!

Maltings Bar and the cigar lounge is where I went every night. Great set up. Cigar lounge needs better ventilation though. No cigarette smoking allowed in the cigar lounge ( good ) .

Encore is my favourite vessel. The decor is just modern enough to still be comfortable and intimate. The speciality dining is amazing; especially Food Republic. And for anytime dining, I love NCL’s The Local concept and it never disappoints in any NCL ship. We loved our evening lazer tag in Alaska. We took advantage of the discounted add-on for more speciality dining and really got our value out of it. It was my first time doing a beverage package and definitely got use out of it too. And the Free @ Sea Internet package was a perfect amount for me. The only thing I didn’t like was that Q had a band performing for the entire length of our meal. So we couldn’t have a conversation. Had I known that, I would have booked another restaurant. But the dinner and country music show concept is cool and I’m sure it’s a good fit for others.

This is the best, most detailed video I've seen of this ship. Considering booking the Encore for January 2024, just disappointed in the amount of upcharges on ship. Wondering if other cruise lines offer more complimentary entertainment and food options?

Norwegian I find to have more upcharges than the other lines. While there are a lot of specialty restaurants, the encore does have a lot of food included with the cruise (the local, main dining room, buffet, observation lounge snacks) which is comparable to many other ships.

Thank you so much for this review. We are first time cruisers and have been stressing after watching some very recent videos by cruise reviewers about all the changes being made to NCL and their cuts to services. Some have said the food and drinks have been cut back but from what you showed it is still ample. Like you we don’t want to pay extra as we already lose half our dollar with the exchange rate. I’m hoping this will be a trip of a lifetime as we’ve saved for years to do our bucket list trip to Alaska and Canada. Oh we have the Free at Sea promotion which includes drinks, I don’t drink alcohol and hubby will only have 1-2 drinks but I’d love some mock mojitos. Can you tell me if the Mojito Bar was extra please?

I did not sail Norwegian to Alaska- but you will be AWED by the scenery- and that doesn’t change with the cruise line. You will love it!!! If they have a shore excursion that ends at a restaurant where you do all you can eat crab legs (if you like them) I HIGHLY recommend doing it!!! Hope you have a great time! 🫶🏽

This is just to much this has convinced me never to cruise. It’s cattle on ship being fed like cattle and hellish children running around. No thank you I love you both and more power to you but I just never want to do this. It doesn’t seem relaxing at all.

Cruising is awesome. You can choose to sail a time of year when there is less cattle and hellish children running around. I dont like any of that either. So, I sail off peak season. Never had a bad cruise yet, and I've been sailing for over 20 years. 😁

Don't think that NCL is going to be a good cruise. The food is bad, the service is worse! The drink package was very expensive and not worth the money. We were on the fence on which cruise line to use. and the fact is Royal Caribbean is far superior in all but one thing. NCL's bathrooms are bigger than even some of the suites in RC. That being said the rest of the check boxes go to RC hands down. Even NCL's Cagney's premier steak house falls flat on its face in both serve and food quality and understanding how to cook a fillet Mignon . The fillet was bland had no taste and it was served overcooked. When we requested to get a replacement, they could not do it. They were so slammed with tables, we had to leave without eating. our main course. They only make up the rooms once a day now, and with that they could take the whole day, We waited till 4 :30 pm most days. one of the pillows we got smelled like perfume!. Come on! get it together NCL. !!. Goes from boarding! till the end with disappointments about food and service. The ship was overcrowded and all the venues were ridiculous!!The shows are dated and low budget. Stay AWAY!!!

If you dont like being overcrowded then why sailed with the cruiselines that has mega ships with the capacity of more than 4000+ and above? , since you cannot avoid overcrowding, then stick to smaller cruise ships that has less than 1000 capacity,
