I think I have seen a Swedish or Canadian couple put a greenhouse around an existing wood cabin. But this has taken it to the next level. :)

I thought at first it could possibly be in Norway, yet I thought it was problably in north america some place. And here I come clicking on the video and it was afterall build in Norway! ;-) I looked at this shortly into another information video of creative houses, and this one stood out for me. Though I love the cabin/cottage style! Now I am also Norwegian, so, this too might have drawn my likes toward this type of house!? ;-D :-)

How were they allowed to build this? Scandinavia is pretty f-ing strict with building laws... you can't just do what you want in the wilderness like Canada or America. I live in Norway, and have pretty much given up hope to ever be able to build my own home. We'll just have to buy some run-down cottage. And there are even laws that you are not allowed to live year round in remote cottages ("hytter"), or register your address there. Same in Sweden.

Great idea and family, but it seems to be single glass and I know they have a rainstorm all winter internally. At least we can hope it just runs down the framework and not dripping. Also, that aluminum frame is going to corrode away eventually, so the idea of eco friendly has a lot of caveats. Even if double or triple frame, the aluminum is a fine thermal conductor, so they are likely learning much about condensation. Great experiment, and probably perfect in the milder months. In the 24 hour sun summer, they probably spend a lot of time outside or opening up glass panes

A dome needs to be super industrial strength with at least double insulation and thick plexiglass with vacuum insulation in between layers and the frame needs to be at least as thick as railroad metal beams.

the dome is a house actually, why did the hoster build another house inside the house? it looked cramped, and not comfortable, I think all the hoster has to do is to partition the dome

Hello Gregory, we who build geodesic domes have been trying for years to encourage people to this design as it is just a better building. We at Sask-domes2019 have developed a true all weather 4 season greenhouse, and as a commercial grade greenhouse at less then 1/2 the price per square foot it is still a tuff sell. People are not used to thinking outside the box, not their fault as our system is designed to make people stop thinking for themselves. One day though they will change I know this because history repeats itself all the time. 🙂

These are bright, white, educated, inquisitive, self supporting, productive, human beings that are becoming very short in supply in the world. Save your ignorant comment for a video on Nigeria or Congo where one woman has 7 or 8 kids that live on dirt floors and eat rice provided by the UN and America. Pray they have 12 or 15 kids. He should take on 2 or 3 more wives, actually. Send condoms to the Congo to save the world, not Norway, dingbat.
