I find it fascinating that you dedicate your time to teach Norwegian -just for fun. AND you actually put effort in cutting the videos, putting music under sometimes, etc. Mange takk! Jeg har lært mye fra disse leksonene!

Hi, I'm German, but I love to learn Norwegian by you being my teacher. Even though my I don't have any contact with the english language except that I read my books in English I can understand most of yours. And to learn Norge this way is lot of fun for me while doing my homework - kitchen cleaning, cooking, making the laundry.... Lots of thanks for these nice lessons and making my work beeing more fun.

@Taggzahriagahtarr Actually, "I lie in bed" is correct. To lie is to recline, intransitive; to lay is to place something somewhere, transitive. "I lay in bed" would be past tense of "I lie in bed". Example: "Yesterday, I lay in bed and slept because I didn't have school".
@dEndiProductions
@dEndiProductions 13 жыл бұрын
@coldmilkishot They are distinct verbs and are not interchangeable. To lie is intransitive, to lay (something) is transitive. However, the past tense of lie is lay. Karin was absolutely correct to say, "I lie in bed", and the person who tried to correct her is wrong.

@Taggzahriagahtarr Actually, no. It is "I lie in bed". Lay is the past tense of lie. Lay (as a present tense verb) is transitive only, so you lay something down. You yourself just lie down.

Hi, I have a question. In english we say - ' What do you do' ? and ' What are you doing ?' Both of these phrases have different meaning in english language. Are these two sentences have the same meaning when we say ' Hva gjør du ?' - What do you do ? or 'what are you doing? Thank you.
@GumbarLimbits
@GumbarLimbits 11 жыл бұрын
No, you had it right. You say "I lie in bed" if you mean that you put yourself in the bed. If there is a direct object of the verb, then you use the word "lay" e.g. "I lay the pillow on the bed."

Karin!! Great video, you are charming and sweet as always! The reason you should say 'gardinene' instead of 'gardiner' is because the curtains are in the definite plural and not in the indefinite plural. On definite plural one should add the suffix 'ene' and this is the reason we get 'gardinene'.

Hello. I have a question. What is the difference between Jeg tror or Jeg synes. Thanks in advance.
@NorwegianTeacher
@NorwegianTeacher 10 жыл бұрын
Jeg tror is more like "i believe", but Jeg synes is more like "this is my opinion". Did that make any sence? Jeg syns fotball er kjedelig (I think football is boring). That is me giving an opinion. Jeg tror de kommer til å tape. (I think they will loose) is more like i Believe they will loose.) understandable?

You are just so great as an instructor, like you have a naural talent for it; but being a beauiful girl makes it even easier to watch you. Do you work for the Norwegian Tourist Board? Are you trying to entice us all to visit Norway? Is that why the Vikings were such hard-asses, with girls like this at home? Keep going. Now I really want to learn Norsk...or is it Norge?
