Hello! Norwegian here, just wanted to let you know you should dust of the snow on the van. You can get a pretty hefty fine by the police since it can turn into ice and fly off and hit another car. Love your videos though, hope you've had a great time here in Norway. I need to go up to northern Norway some time 😊 Edit: It can also hide important lights from far away

There's many downsides with Norway, but all the upsides far outweigh them in my opinion, and no mud season is one of them :) Our mountains makes it impossible for mud to form and cause trouble to the same extent it would in flatter areas. Even our flat areas aren't flat... And it's funny to read because I want to go to Canada at some point. Your pow can get amazing I know. And there must be so many fun kayak routes.

400 g Torsketunger 4 ss hvetemel 1 ts Salt 0.5 TS Pepper 0.5 ts caennepepper 2 stk. EGG 2 dl grillmel 2 dl oil 1 stk. Sitron THIS IS WHAT YOU DO Rinse and dry the cod tongues. Mix wheat flour, salt, pepper and cayen pepper in a deep plate, whisk eggs in another deep plate and have grilled flour in a last plate. Turn the cod tongues first into flour, then in eggs and finally in grilling flour. Place them on a barrel until everyone is done. Heat oil in a saucepan and fry the cod tongues until golden brown on both sides. Place them on a little paper towel to drain. Serve piping warm cod tongues with lemon boats and remulade. If you want to serve cod tongues as a full dinner, so have cooked potatoes and cracked carrots next door. Do you have dry bread? Then you can make homemade grilling flour yourself.

Cod Tonques are commonly eaten in New Foundland and Canadian Maritimes, PEI, NB, NS. If you’re not from Newfoundland, you may be a little perplexed. But, please stay with me here. They’re really yummy! Think of them as little cod nuggets; essentially, nuggets seasoned well, dredged in flour and fried in olive oil until crispy, golden brown and scrumptious. You see, this is a traditional Newfoundland recipe. As you may have heard me say before, Newfoundland has a deep rooted history in the cod fishery. We have all sorts of recipes for cod in these parts, all unique and delicious. What I particularly love about the concept of this recipe is that it uses a part of the fish that may often get overlooked. It’s using something aside from the most commonly used parts, like the fillets.

Great video as always Alex. The one thing that I want to know more about is how you go about tow-starting a diesel engine van? Is it straightforward? Cutting out the Cod tongues is traditionally done by children. It's often their first real earnings. There was recently a story about a 4year old who did it for the first time. He is saving up to buy a fishing boat. He absolutely knows what he wants to be when he grows up. Winter eating... Fried herring. It's season for fresh herring now. A pair of 400grams will do nicely. With head and tail removed and guts cleaned out. Leave the skin on. Rub with a mix of Flour, salt and ground black pepper.(Two tablespoons of Flour, two teaspoons of salt, and as much pepper as you like) Fry in butter on liw to medium heat. And make certain it's butter, and not some sort of Margarine. Fry on both sides until it starts loosening from the spine. The skin should be brown and crispy. Serve with cooked potatoes and 'Flatbread' Because there's no way you can ever manage to remove all the tiny little bones. I'll not try to get you to eat Lutefisk or other chemical warfare agent. If you enjoyed the Reindeer heart, look for canned food named either 'Joikakaker'(tins) or 'Vilti'(new cardboard packaging) It's meatballs containing some reindeer meat. Serve with mashed potatoes, and if you have it a dab of Tyttebær(Lingonberry, Mountain Cranberry and many other names) jam or jello will add a bit of a zest to the meal. Actually, that works with just about all red meat. ;-)

Good episode again, was looking forward to an update. Hope all will go well with your passport. Maybe a honest Norwegian will find and return it- for memories now, but still. Does Norway actually have cameras everywhere like the UK? haven’t spotted any ANPR e.g., so seems you are free to go around there. Did you actually have trouble finding an insurance for your van? After all, it’s „modified“ and that’s usually a killer when you tick that box with any insurance.

Passports are pretty easy to sort. Just a online form, local police to report lost and collect a emergency one. I would imagine there are some ANPR camera as there are quite a few tolls around. Actually, really easy to van insurance as I use a company which specialises in it
@demil3618
@demil3618 Жыл бұрын
@@MispronouncedAdventures Coild you name the company? I know Brits get a terrible deal on insurance usually (named drivers only, modifications/non-fault claims etc being held against you etc.), very different from French or German insurers. So the ones that stand out might be worth mentioning 🙂 Yes ANPR might be at toll roads & borders, but in the UK it‘s everywhere in the roadside, small black cams on traffic lights or lamp posts- massive surveillance by police. Watch out for cameras with a fairly steep angle onto a lane

Hi How unsafe is it to drive a UK vehicle on the right when driving on a single track road by yourself without a passenger for your eyes when driving around a blind corner like a mountain or a blind rocky side? as there are miles of these blind spots in Switzerland or especially Norway, or even a cliff top edge , is this is a really dangerous concern? or am i worrying to much? I have bought a dash cam for the left side of the front window screen and a very dodgy tiny mirror to clip to my left wind shield , I need a fixed one but I fear that is not enough! many thanks

Really it’s very easy, i’ve now done more miles in this van on the wrong side of the road ( British vehicle in Europe ) and then I have on the UK side of the road. It’s really a non-issue for me. You adapt

@@MispronouncedAdventures Thanks, I will not be travelling far North this time or taking hardly the coast, more the National parks of the South and lower mid section for a lot of hiking, but I will still have the issue of probable single track lanes driving on the right of the right around blind spot cliff rocky bends to the right obscuring my vision, I will take some caution, a few blind spot mirrors heading forward from inside of passenger rear of front window frame, ans a cam set up on the left wind screen and be driving very slow, using horn if its that bad and headlights,

It’s sometimes tempting to dash about too much but it seems you’ve got a good system of chilling out for a while when the pitch seems to work well? As for moving pitches due to changed weather - it’s noticeably hard AFTER you’ve gone to bed. I’ve got it down to about five minutes - preceded by huge mental effort (about an hour) to get out of bed to start the process.😂
