Now that was a grand vlog. Extremely informative. Yes you could cut back on the mileage but if you fancy going somewhere then off you go. With regard to your food costs, it works out about £25 per day for the 3 of you, bearing in mind Catherine you have 2 growing boys, I don’t think that was too bad 🥹 A few beers and coffee/cake and soft drinks, didn’t account for much at all. The main thing was you had a wonderful adventure and we’ve all seen Zak really come into his own. Congratulations on being such a lovely family and thank you for your continued honesty. I always leave one of your vlogs a tad sad …but cheer myself up as I know it won’t be too long before you pop up again, thank goodness.

Love it. I’m Mrs Spreadsheet this year! Watching every penny, making cuts where I can! Determined to be able to go full time as soon as we can! It was super interesting to see where your budget went. Really enjoyed the breakdown. Sad to hear Spains not as cheap as it used to be. The Schengen calculator is a pain!!! We are looking forward to seeing you in the U.K. for a while though! Happy New Year 🍻

Great vlog guys, as per normal, well done for doing this very informative and helpful breakdown. Unfortunately France is becoming very expensive, food price inflation in particular is a worrying concern for our friends who live in Brittany. Fuel is a big expense in a larger van, but with Three of you it's understandable that you require more space to live in. On a positive note you had a memorable trip that Zac will never forget

😊 That was a good breakdown! And to be fair I think that was a fairly good cost. When you take into consideration the fact that it's 3 adults (teenage boys are bottomless pits LOL) for food, and all those kms you did it's not bad! Just over $2k a month for everything, so just over $500pw is good surely? If you compare it with paying rent, mortgage, rates, insurances etc. And the beautiful places you went, the history, the memories Priceless - can never put a cost on those

Great video, very interesting to have a breakdown of costs. Personally I think it wasn't a bad price for 3 months. It's true food in Spain is no longer cheap, we used to bring loads back, especially shampoo and cleaning stuff but now it's pretty much the same price as in France.
@FieldviewAdventures9 ай бұрын
Yes we was told it was really cheap but we found quite the opposite.. thanks 😊
@suzybeetravels9 ай бұрын
I'd say that amount isn't too bad. Our whole winter cost last year from October to February was nearly £7,300 so for the three of you with how your van is on fuel I don't think it's that bad! Enjoy UK bread! I miss it 😂xx

To be fair you can't get a decent holiday for that length of time for that price. We had a family holiday in June last year at Magic Rock in Benidorm and it cost us £5,800 for 10 nights. That's without spending off site and the extras. It looks like you made the most of it and why not, life is for living.

Thank You for the helpful tips, especially the French Autoroute classifications (3 v 4). Just a quick question - isn’t class 4 for vehicles with three axles? Or, are all large motorhomes classed as “3” even if, like yourselves, they have twin axles at the rear? Many thanks
@FieldviewAdventures9 ай бұрын
Class 4 is HGV lorry or bus we did have this clarified at one of the tolls just to be sure. Class 3 is a motorhome over 3 meters in height and weighing over 3.5 tonne no maximum limit ☺️

Why don't you have the van remapped . We have a very similar van 3.0ltr tag axle. Before the remap we could get approx 22mpg.. and the odd down change going up hill.. After the remap the van now averages 27.5.. 28.0mpg.. this is mostly motorway running 70 ish.. Best we have achieved driving like miss daisy has been 33.3mpg.. that was again motorway running from Morecombe to Conway Have a think on a remap "" not a black box plug and play " waste of time those Thanks daz

Love the sound that your both awake (conspiracy theorist) lol .. this 90 days thing does my head in - does it not you ? why can we not travel anywhere for as long as we like ? who made this law ? and for what purpose exactly ? as long as anyone who travels does not go to countries asking for money what is the problem ? what harm can anyone be doing by travelling around ..... authority really gets under my skin - as you may be able to tell lol - its all about CONTROL ! if the truth be known i bet there is no law that states this about 90 days, it may be written in some form of legislation or act - to which neither are not law, remember the covid BS, we were not allowed to go out - yea well that turned out to be all lies too - great and very informative vid guys - luv an peace to the world xx
