Norwegian Star - First Day in Ushuaia!

Welcome to Day 7 of my 16-Day solo cruise on the NCL Star around South America & Antarctica! Today we arrive early for an overnight stay in Ushuaia, Argentina, a place so far south that it is known as "The End of the World!" I spend some time roaming around town, stopping in a restaurant for a local brew, soaking in the incredible scenery that finally makes an appearance after the weather clears, and even a late-night trek with new cruise friends to the southernmost Irish Pub in the world!

Thank you for sharing! I was surprised by the fact that you stayed overnight in Ushuaia. I will be on that cruise next year. Or almost the same. In the Norwegian Star also. In 2022 I chose Celebrity, for the Antarctica cruise. But I am liking Norwegian better. Your videos are very enjoyable and helpful. Kind regards from Buenos Aires!

Great series so far! I was on one of the expedition ships that couldn't dock until later in the evening with the winds being so high, kept pushing us away from the dock. There are a lot of options for solo travelers who don't want to share a cabin on expedition ships though, mine was a little more expensive but only about a 25% premium over a shared cabin. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the trip :)

@@MerCruisesSolo Not at all! I used Intrepid Travel so the ship was the Ocean Endeavour. Older ship, doesn't have all the amenities we're used to on normal cruises, but I'm so very tempted to book it again this year. Around a quarter of the ship, if not more, were solo travelers too. Always happy to answer any questions :)

Yes! I made quite a few friends on this sailing and we hung out around the ship almost every night. I am fortunate in that I don’t mind being by myself though, as long as I have my kindle I am entertained 😊

Thanks! Yes, they are "Hsyooes Womens Waterproof Snow Boots" - I got them on Amazon for a very reasonable price, and loved them for this trip!

Ushuaia got the wrong fame of being "end of the world"..... but it´s not correct.... The end of the world is Puerto Williams in Chile.
