A couple of quick observations. First, this is an excellent lesson and I'm fascinated that any lesson of this quality is free. Second, why would anyone give this a thumbs down? As a slightly advanced beginner that has been hacking away at the same I IV V 1st position chords for FAR to long, this lesson is a godsend. I just wish that the folks that voted it down said WHY. Wonderful lesson, clear, concise. Learning to play guitar when you're in your 50's and 60's is tough. Playing the rhythm and melody at the same time to a song is at least identifiable can be pretty tricky for anyone other than advanced players. This is one of the few songs I can do that with now. Thanks Justin.

The lesson is not for free pal, by doing this kind of videos, Justin is gaining suscribers, likes and getting paid by youtube!
@user-sl4sx6dp4c6 жыл бұрын
pretty sure i didnt pay anything for this. Hence why it's free from our POV

Nek. the thumbs down are because there are people that would love to play the guitar but don't want to put any effort into it. Kind of like getting off the sofa to change a TV channel. Lazy. the only thing that makes them feel good is putting other people that are better than them down. They don't know by now that everything in life takes some effort. So these people will never be happy. Just existing one day after the other until the end, so sad. I wish I could write a song for the loosers in the world.

Excellent lesson... Justin really has the best teaching style. I really hate other instructor videos that start with 2 minutes of "click my link, blah, blah, blah" ;-) One variation I like on this song: Use Em7 instead of Em and A7 instead of A for the bridge section.

@sundaynightdrunk2 жыл бұрын
I know this is six years too late, but it might help others. Learn the song as you do, but don't settle that you "have it" learned until you can listen to the original in the car, in your headphones, or anywhere far from the guitar. Listen carefully. When you next attempt the song, set your phone's voice memo to record it. Listen back later, in the car, on your headphones, or anywhere away from the guitar and see what you think. That's what others are hearing when you play it. Do you have it down? Probably not. Go home and get it down.

An excellent choice Justin for beginners and one of those beautiful Beatles' songs that doesn't get much airplay. Oddly enough this was one of the first songs I learned when I first took up the guitar several years ago. It sounds great when played on a twelve string but it took me a while to to build up enough callouses on my fingertips before I could play it!

Interested to know if you still play the song capo'd up? I learned the tune just playing natively (no capo) in the key of E. The main advantage is the reinforcement of that big, fat low E string. Playing in D, you could drop the low E to D, of course.
