I’m 37. Norwich is single handedly the best decision I ever made. If you have the itch, do it. Don’t look back. Give it 100% and pour yourself into it. The lessons learned won’t even be realized until years later. Every person I know who’s graduated from there is successful. It’s a mindset. Be the best version of yourself. Join a sport, a club, be engaged. Try.

Young Americans who volunteer for this sort of college life are eminently admirable. They definitely are not the sorts of sleazy non-regs... wimpy frat rats, and air-headed cookie pushers... at ordinary places elsewhere.

It's fine to drop out of Norwich like you did. It really is not for everyone, but you don't have to talk the school down like it did something wrong. If anything, you're the one who failed, not the school.

@@adcommerce4672 I'm looking for a real military school not one that says they are one while just letting everyone get away with everything. If I go to Norwich will I get the challenge I am looking for?

@@mareamejia8599 Norwich does it's best to crack down on those who intentionally fall short of the minimum standards. However, what I have gleaned from my short time here is that it is entirely up to you to stand out, to keep your uniform looking sharp, to keep your room clean and your rack made, to keep your grades up, to stay busy even in the secluded mountains of central Vermont, and to demonstrate good conduct in your behavior. Once you are taught the things for which Rookdom is intended, and the 3rd party accountability of cadre is withdrawn, it is you and you alone who is responsible for holding yourself to high standards of personal appearance, conduct, academic achievement, etc., not someone else. That is why Norwich prepares people so well for life and leadership...that is, if they buy in to the purpose of everything that is done here. Only the mentally strong and adaptable can survive here. That's all it is. Your experience here is what you make of it. That's Norwich. That's been Norwich for 200+ years. It's the same deal, different era.
