What you do for your dad is absolutely wonderful. Even if you weren’t interested in classic cars I still believe you would give him your undivided attention and the patients that you so gracefully deliver. You’re a proper example of a fine young lady. The things you’re learning now can’t be put into words and have nothing to do with cars.

The books are cool. When I sold my '70 Buick, the new owner got the set of factory chassis manuals, factory assembly manuals, body manuals, the dealer parts book with the illustrated companion, the book of TSBs for the car, and the original owners' manual. I feel all that stuff _belongs_ to the car.

I was proud of Mark going up that latter. I could almost smell his fear emitting from my IPhone. But then he lived up to his name, he stayed cool, kept cool, and remained as the Ice Tray. The Iceman, and one he’s never used, “Bigg Daddy Ice”.

It's fun for Alyssa to join in on portions of the builds so she knows the process. The real devil in the details is all the technical knowledge Mark has and trying to pass that forward to her. His expertise is off the scale, hope she is taking a ton of notes.

my father had a 68 roadrunner convertible for......maybe a month before my step brother totaled.....er, broke it. they fixed......er , put it back together ,but it wasn't right. this makes me think that one day I'll look for one to own and think about my dad when i drive it.....or a basket case and have these guys fix it. the attention to detail is right up my alley......i think i'd rather have them fix a basket case that buy one complete. i don't like free advertising, but i'm thinking maybe..... I'd by one of their t shirts......that's if they sell me one. time will tell.

Speaking of LA engines...the poor little 318 brings to mind a very important question I ALWAYS wondered (that MAYBE, Mark has books to answer)...back in the 1980's, I purchased a used D100 1969 Pickup. 3-on-the-tree, 8-3/4" Sure Grip rear (first give-away that SOMETHING was different here)...the engine was a 'factory orange' (normally, the sign of a high performance Dodge engine)...with a FACTORY 4-bbl carburetor and 2+ inch thick radiator. I asked a guy that was 30-years my senior, 'what do you think the deal is, with that engine?' He chuckled and said, 'well, I've never seen one in a TRUCK before...but that's a 318-High Performance engine!' I asked him, 'ok...what's the difference in 318's between 'Standard Performance' and 'High Performance'? He said...'I don't know, to be truthful...they have a factory 4-barrel...but power-wise, I have no idea the difference. The only 'listed' 318-engine in the book I have (a Motors Manual) says it's 230-hp, 340-ft/lbs torque...but I'm really assuming that's the 2-barrel version...as the 273 Commando makes more power than that...so, 4-barrel...higher compression...probably better heads (hadn't looked to see if it had J-heads, or not)...he said 'I'd guess it AT LEAST has the 275-hp of a 273 Commando...but that's just a guess. There are NO BOOKS NOW, that I am aware of, that differentiate the LA318 'Standard' motor from the MUCH rarer LA318 'high performance' version...but if anyone knows...I sure would be curious, even now, as to what kind of power that thing made. I know that it was 'much quicker', could pull harder, than my D200 Dodge with a 360 in it...

That's funny , people always call it a Motor but , a Motor is electrical driven where a engine is a Combustional chamber where it works by fuel and spark 💯😂😂
@fishsquishguy18333 жыл бұрын
So by YOUR definition a diesel is technically a motor because it doesn’t use a spark for ignition🙂 A lot of old school guys use motor but I wouldn’t call it incorrect, maybe slang. How about: motorcycle, motor pool, motorcade, motorboat, motor scooter, motor head, Motor City, & motoring? Motor rolls off the tongue and sounds better in most situations. As Elwood Blue said: “It’s got a cop MOTOR, a four hundred and forty cubic inch plant”

After '71 engines were blue. All '68 HP's were turquoise. Some '69 HP's W/AC were turquoise, non A/C were "Street Hemi Orange". "383 Magnum" was only available in Super Bees and Challengers. All 383's in Chargers were "383 Four Barrel". All '68, '69 340's were turquoise. '70, '71 340's were "Street Hemi Orange" '72, '73 340's were blue. Gloss Black on hood does not look good. 😳 "400 Magnum" never existed from the factory, Someone cobbled those numbers and letters together on the hood. 🤣 in fact, '72 Roadrunners W/"400" had no designation on the hood from the factory. Featured car in program would NOT have had a "Bulge Hood" from the factory W/ "400" option. Bulge hoods were only available W/ "440" option '71 thru '74.
