Happy Birthday and thank you for giving a gift to us. A visit to Bordeaux is on my bucket list, with Chateau Latour the top winery, on that list. It was my first introduction to 1st growth Bordeaux and I can still remember how I felt when I first experienced Latour. Sadly, so out of my price range since the late 90s.

What is happening to French wine. Relative recent vintages seem to lack body or be more acidic. I assume that the climate has become more North African that the grapes are ripening prematurely or holding lass moisture.

I see the opposite. I guess it depends with wines that we have tasted recently. France is so huge and diverse, it is very difficult to speak about its wines in general terms. 🤷‍♀️
