Doom keeps a running count of the amount of monsters killed in the level, and when it displays the kill percentage at the end it'll compare that against the amount of preplaced monsters in the level. Usually this system works fine but there are two cases where the numbers can be out of sync: if an Icon of Sin spawns extra monsters, or if a dead monster respawns and is killed a second time. Play any map with an Archvile, or any map in Nightmare difficulty, and you'll see the kill count exceed 100%. UV-Respawn is an interesting category, you play the game with the -respawn parameter and exit the level once you hit 100% kills. Obviously a true max is impossible since the enemies will respawn infinitely. Respawn is interesting to route & run because you can skip tankier enemies that take longer to kill in favour of killing the same weaker ones multiple times

@@billabobyt Thanks for explaining this. I've seen in multiple UV-Respawn vids that the 100% Kills was being hit -- despite there being tons of enemies left over -- and was wondering how that worked. That make sense!
