14:57 "One can't appear in the Texas State Book Depository on November 22, 1963, and hope to stop the Kennedy assassination" NC: "No, that would be a freaking awesome storyline." And then Stephen King's _11/22/63_ comes out on Nov. 2011.

In response to why the pilot didn't notice that the plane was empty, it could be that he just woke up and wasn't fully awake as he walked towards Dinah. It usually takes me about 2 minutes to come completely back to reality following being awoken suddenly.

So as he was still slightly sleepy...he didn't notice ALL the people missing and the 100's of empty seats? I don't care how sleepy you are, you can tell the difference between a full plane and a mostly empty one. And this guy is a pilot, someone who's eyesight is MASSIVELY important?

Steve Perrin Not to mention his awareness, I mean this are guys who fly huge metallic objects across sea and land high in the sky with way too many people depending on him while his only support is the copilot, not to mention that the damn plane is not easy to fly...so yeah, unless you had one huge ass beer before going to sleep, you have issues sleeping and its the first time in a week you get some sleep, or you sleep really heavily or had a dream that made you wake up dissoriented...wait no, f*ck it, not even then you would not notice the missing folks :l

I was on the plane once with "Mr. Toomey". Or at least someone behaving very much like his rude self. On my way from California to the east coast, my flight was unexpectedly grounded in Phoenix Arizona because of summer thunderstorms. I don’t recall exactly how long it was but of course the delay was not exactly welcomed by the passengers, though we took it patiently. At least most of us did. There was one individual… but more about that in a bit. However long it was, at least 2 or 3 hours, we finally heard the announcement that boarding was starting for our flight. Yippee! We all boarded the plane and it was soon rolling toward the takeoff runway. Until it stopped. The pilot eventually came on the loudspeaker and in an obviously tired and apologetic voice said, “I am very sorry for this folks, but we are going to need to return to the terminal.” I don’t remember how much longer it took for us to finally get off the ground but I do remember a certain passenger. Likely a businessman, he was seeing dollar signs turning over backward as the elapsed minutes ticked by. Mr. “Time is Money”. He was livid and, being within earshot, I heard him in his seat talking on his cellphone. He demanded to speak to the president of the airline. He apparently wound up speaking to someone at the executive level and, in the most heated and irate terms possible, began to demonstrate obvious signs of having activated his own personal RDF. That’s a “Reality Distortion Field”. He described the initial flight delay and the subsequent time sitting on the plane and said something like, “These people on the plane are about to riot. They’re going to tear this plane apart”. As he spoke these words I looked about the cabin at all the passengers sitting calmly in their seats and patiently suffering the slings and arrows of modern flying difficulties. I'm sure this character made zero difference in our actual takeoff time.

What bums me out is that being trapped in a vanishing past is actually a seriously good twist. It's the Langoliers that are stupid as hell.

Cmon Critic, sure the Langoliers was bad, but Fright Night and Child's Play were arguably some of the best horror films of the 80's.

I don't necessarily think that he hates them. He just thinks that their, well... silly. While I do respectively disagree with him, I still like them both, but he's perfectly entitled to his own opinion, as long as doesn't try to force his opinion on others.

It's funny how a lot of people who think this is a good movie are arguing you have to read the book when the mark of a good adaptation is you don't have to read the book to understand or enjoy the film. Idk why people can't admit that they like something that isn't very good and move on. Hell, I adore Space Jam even though it's a flaming piece of shit. I know it is and I don't care. I'm sure there are some who honestly believe this is good but I'm pretty sure the majority just doesn't want their taste insulted.

I agree. I never understood why they were seemingly unaffected by anything outside the plane until the hammy cartoon character stabbed them. I mean they pointed it out that on the plane time has effect and unless your stabbed in the head, it takes time for you to bleed out as he's trying to say. A stab in the back will not instantly kill you nor in the chest, it still takes some amount of time to succumb. So that never made sense. And the bullet obviously fired, so why didn't the power ranger guy start bleeding out when he got to the plane like one of the five times he was on it afterwards.... fucking stupid.

Why doesn't this ever mention the auto pilot? If it did, it would help explain how the plane flew threw the wormhole without knowing it assuming it opened up above and sticker it in. Also, the British guy could then live and not take his life flying the plane in for the others. Wouldn't that just make all the sense in the world?
