Along the same reverse-engineering process that led you to Crabmon as a likely Rookie Form, I think there is a good chance that Regalucusmon is actually derived from _Gomamon itself,_ as a variant Digivolution for survival in the Dark Ocean. Regalucusmon, without its Armour, seems to have the same white skin with blue stripes as Gomamon, as well as _red-orange hair,_ which doesn't fit to the genetic qualities of many other Digimon. It would also explain its ability to have clashed with and defeated a Zudomon in its (as-to-yet unknown) Ultimate Level - as it's from the same base family, just evolved for a more dangerous environment. It seems more like a Virus-type Digivolution Line in parallel with Vikemon than a mutation of other Digimon types, which favoured Cunning over Bulkyness, and relied more upon Tools and Armour to bolster its lesser frame in order to have greater agility under the greater pressures in the Dark Ocean. That's just my take on the possible origins of Regalucusmon, as I have no idea what its Champion and Ultimate Stages would be in this situation - it's more likely that they would be New Variants of Ikakkumon and Zudomon than other existing Digimon forms anyway. So take what you will from that...

To me, regalecusmon's evolution line is: Swimmon > Tobiumon > hangyomon > regalecusmon. Swimmon is a Digimon that uses its large fins to fly above the ocean's surface for short periods. It evolves into Tobiumon, a Flying fish Digimon with developed fins that allow it to fly. Also It has large arms that enable it to move on the ground. Tobiumon has some similarities with hangyomon: webbed hands, similar tale. I see this like a true example of evolution: a fish with arms that becomes a fishman able to walk on the ground. In the end hangyomon evolves into regalecusmon, a pirate fishman and the ruler of the abyss that stands at the apex of the food chain due to its overwhelming power.

It reminds me of Lucemon’s armor honestly. Almost convinced myself that the thing was a DNA digivolution of scorpiomon, Garyrumon, some sort of fish, and Lucemon Satan mode.

Its nice to have one of my comments featured, even if it feels like my suggestions were brushed off. but since your focusing on less mainstream Digimon at the moment, may I again request an analysis of Gotsumon? While never partnered with any major player, it and its evolution lines have several notable players, such as AncientVolanomon, BanchoGolemon, and recently discovered branched evolution from Golemon, Gogmamon looks to be the Ultimate form of Blastmon, a curious Mega* level Digimon

I disagree. To me the line Veemon -> depthmon -> Mermaimon -> Regalecusmon is more likely, going from a curious explorer to a kleptomaniac pirate. You can also see various traits throughout the line, such as the webbed hands from Depthmon, the ancient lineage from Veemon as well as the prospect of armor digivolution providing the basis of strong reliable armor, and the pirate aspects as well as obsession with loots and whatever it wants as well as a willingness to do anything to obtain that loot. All this in a natural and organic progression that one can easily track without confusion, and it easily paints a story by itself. I do not think we should be looking at the pincer for any trademark of the digivolution line as it is crafted and not part of his body.

You could also consider reapermon to be a pirate as it is born from criminal data features skulls like a jolly roger and don't tell me that his judgement sickle isn't reminiscent of a captain's hook replacement hand.

Actually, the more resonable theory of a "correct" evolution line for Regalecusmon, is Sangomon>Tobiumon>Gusokumon or Piranimon>Regalecusmon, because he was first introduced in Digimon Virtual Pet Pendulum Z together with them, and thats one evolution line way to reach Regalecusmon form, the first ever way to. They are all Deep Savers and Deep Savers only, and regardless they not been all Virus Attribute, we can see LOTS of evolution lines where they change Attributes all over the place, even in Digimon Adventure 1, where Gabumon has Data Attribute, Garurumon and WereGarurumon has Vaccine, then MetalGarurumon comes back to Data. Digimon can change ALOT along the way of evolution and there are never only one correct evolution line for a Digimon. Many many digimons can become Regalecusmon. BUT, like i first said, he was created at the same time as Sangomon, Tobiumon, Piranimon, MarineKimeramon and Gusokumon and they all can become Regalecusmon in the game he was first seem.

Just one thing, that nat geo quote means that we havent mapped 80 percent of the sea floor. there have been people who have reached the very deepest point of the ocean, the marianas trench. but more people have visited the moon than have gone tho the deepest point of the ocean.

hmm purely in terms of appearance, Regalciumon looks like a deep ocean gladiator from ancient Rome, even more only in terms of appearance, it looks like it could take on the role of Kratos from the god of war series to try to destroy Olypus xD

I somewhat agree with the final result of th e video; however I'd go with MarinChimairamon over Scorpiomon. Regalecusmon comes off to me as a MarinChimairamon that managed to "adapt" to all of its parts, refining them more into a complete Digimon as opposed to being a frankenstein's monster mishmash.

Yeah, that's essentially what Millenniummon is as well. The only Mugendramon's unfluence come in the form on the aura and the cannons, however, the rest of the body is an evolved Kimeramon that managed to integrate the data to its body. That and I think MarineKimeramon's body shape is really similar to Regalecusmon.

I've heard it a few times now that MetalGreymon received its technology from Andromon's data but it's very interesting that when Greymon digivolves in the new series to MetalGreymon we see Machinedramon* flash for a moment... explain?

you mean Machinedramon. and what this means is that part of Metalgreymon (mainly the arm) is later used for Machinedramon.

Divermon, [humanoid], [has 4 limbs and a fishtail ], [has fin ears], [ greyish skin(under the diver gear apparent by the tail and eye holes in the suit )], [wields weapon], Not to disagree with all your points but armor is still armor, An unconnected part like one of the points you made .. although Divermon and Regalecusmon are vastly different by strength .. its one of the closest by far the only thing missing is an awkward middle ground to connect the two easily Design-wise, But apart from that, it would just be a rogue Divermon that went through training and so many battles that he grew into more of a lone fighter although this turns more into what I think, a lack of strength doesn't mean a lack of potential to achieve greater strength. [I would go with adolescent warrior shark man wielding a harpoon-like blade, Before upgrading arsenal ] I would post a picture of my art on the subject if I could I still love your videos and theories tho

See I would have to say divermon as well between the hands the ears the mouth structure and the general head shape plus with them being deep sea aquatic creatures that can handle a lot of pressure. And if they evolved by getting the horn then maybe a group effort which would probably leave only a couple alive and then maybe a small group Fusion together which would give the extra length for the oarfish because the back looks like it could have had something on it. Just my thoughts

Riberimon was called "Metal Ogamon" at the design review stage. It was just a temporary name to solidify the image, but I think that the setting as a tough and aggressive Digimon that even dies is rebellious (rebellion) is still inspired by Ogamon

Don't forget some digimons change or further digivolve by absorbing data from their surroundings, from other Digimon and adapt to their environment like a learning program. Like imperialdramon paladin mode is imerialdramon taking taken Omegamon data to evolve into or Galacticmon absorbing a satellite. Digimon can dramatic changes on digivolve from rookie to mega like palmon and tailmon line.

Kinda dont agree with this one. But all of this is just speculation. Marine chimeramon looks the closest one as its prior form for me. However, there are exceptions to digivolving if certain conditions are met. I think every suggestion here is valid. I just dont like how he dismissed everyones suggestion.
